My review is short and to the point. Hope it helps some of you out there!

Mother Nature- F
The weather was soooo horrible, but to be honest it didnt matter on the day. It was pouring and then it just became sooo hot and humid that we didnt even get to take pictures outside. OH well!

Rehearsal Dinner- Pomodorino's in Hauppauge A
The private room was so pretty and the food was amazing. I just wished their service was a little faster, but other than that it was great!

Tuxes- Bonaventure- A+
Absolutely NO problems! Service was great!

Makeup- Maureen Pedala- A++++++++
My makeup was fantastic! It didnt budge all night. People couldnt believe it looked the same at 2 am as it did at 2 pm when it was first applied. I sometimes am oily and there was no shine all day. I love her she is the best and if I ever need my makeup done again I will be calling Maureen!

Flowers- LA Blossom- A+++++++
Not enough words to express how beautiful my flowers were! Laurie really did an amazing job. Our ceremony was gorgeous, she was able to transform a plain ballroom into a romantic and elegant ceremony. My sister-in-law has saved her bridesmaid bouquet in the fridge and is having it made up with silk flowers to keep on display in her living room because she loved her bouquet so much! I got so many compliments on the flowers it was just beautiful!

Photography- Twelfth Night- A+++++++
Dominic is just great! I am still waiting for proofs, but if my wedding photos come out 1/2 as good as my engagement photos then I will be sooooo happy! Anthony was our 2nd photographer and he stayed throughout the reception. He was sooo nice and I barely noticed him taking candids as we danced.
He also stayed to make sure we got any last minute photos before he left for the night. He also helped to put on the bouts for the men since no one knew how.

Video-Mittermax- A+++++++
I havent seen the video but I know it will be great! Travis, Dom and Anthony work so well together and it was nice to have that dynamic. His personality also puts you very much at ease even though there is a camera in your face.

Hyatt Regency Wind Watch- B+
I would love to give the Hyatt an A, but there were some headaches along the way. All in all they did a fantastic job. Everyone that I dealt with at the hotel was so nice and friendly. The Hyatt really came through for me and I am so thankful that they did! The food was AMAZING! Everyone couldnt believe how great the food was and is still talking about it. My cake was sooooooo beautiful also. It had our monogram in it and the detail work was wonderful! Everyone thought it was such an elegant beautiful affair. The plus was also having a room upstairs and not having to drive.

Honeymoon- Sandals Grande St Lucia- A++++++++++++++++++++
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! THis was such a great honeymoon. We had a swim-up pool lagoon room and I have to say it is sooooo worth the money! They really pamper and cater to you in the concierge rooms and the hotel grounds were so pretty! The only negative was that I thought the rooms would be a bit nicer. In the brochure they show 4 poster beds and it was not exactly like the brochure but still really nice.

do you have your proofs yet? I'd love to see pics!

Re: My July 17 Wedding Review Hyatt Regency Wind Watch Hotel

Hi ..

I just received a copy of the contract from Doris. We want to book the Hyatt for our wedding on October 10, 2009, but I was taken aback as soon as I read the contract. Please see some stipulations from the contract that seem very unfair.

-------------------

DEPOSITS
A deposit of $3,000.00 is required on 10/20/08.
A deposit of $3,000.00 is required on 1/20/09.
A deposit of $3,000.00 is required on 5/20/09.
The balance is due 10 prior to the Wedding.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Either the Hotel or Group may cancel this contract without cause at any time prior to the event by paying to the other party liquidated damages (agreed not to constitute a penalty based on the following scale:

More than six (6) months from arrival date - 50%
Less than six (6) months to one (1) month from arrival date - 75%
Less than one (1) month up to arrival date -100%

Cancellations made under this provision shall be made by the canceling party to the non-canceling party by written notice and payment of the liquidated damages due at that time.

EVENT ROOM
The Hotel reserves the right to assign another room for the Customer's functions in the event the room originally designated for such function shall be unavailable or inappropriate, in the Hotel's sole opinion.
------------------------------

As you can see, the payment schedule is very stiff. Lessing's schedule shows that a payment of 25% has to be provided 45 days before the event. Also, the cancellation policy says that the hotel can cancel the event without any cause. Payment for other vendors are not even enough to cover the damages this situation would cause. And on top of that, they can cancel 1 month before the event!

Can you possibly let me know if these stipulations appeared in your contract? They're not being fair and are not comparable with the other reception places?

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
