My Valentines Day wedding review-2/14/09 Fox Hollow

First of all I want to say congrats to all the brides to be and a congrats to all the new brides. Sorry this has taken me so long to do but we have been so busy.

This was such a helpful website for me. It was nice to be able to talk to people that were in the same situation as you and some of my problems and concerns were solved because of other peoples help. This is where my review comes in. I figured that maybe I can help someone the way I was helped. Now let me say we are all entitled to our own opinions and just because I may have has a bad or good experience with a vendor does not mean that you will have the same. Its your wedding and no matter what BS you have to deal with beforehand nothing will matter to you once that day arrives. So just enjoy every minute of it and try to soak it all in..Best of luck to you all


FOX HOLLOW-A+---

Let me start with them first because they were the essence of the whole wedding. When my fiance and I were searching for vendors we wanted it to be a very romantic place since we were getting married on Valentines Day. This place exceeded our expectations so much that it is even hard to explain. The winter garden pavillion was breathtaking and my bridal attendant and matre de could not have been more helpful. I still to this day get compliments on the food and the service and how beautiful the place was so much that my aunt and uncle decided to host there 50th wedding anniversary there. To me that was the biggest compliment that they loved everything so much that they wanted there special day to be there as well. I made all of my own centerpieces and table names (we did famous tc couples since it was Valentines Day) and they set everything up perfectly that when I first saw the room all the pieces of the puzzle that I had been working on for 13 months came together so beautifully. I highly reccommend this vendor to anyone. They care about making your day so special and they treat each wedding like it was there own. There are not enough words to express what a wonderful job they did.

We also stayed at the Fox Hollow in which was just the icing on the cake of a perfect night..BEAUTIFUL

TLC ENTERTAINMENT-A

We knew we wanted to go with this DJ right away. His name was Joey and he was very upbeat we knew right away he was going to be good at getting the party started lol. They sat us down and we wrote down all the specifics that we wanted done and he accomodated everything. The only reason why I gave them an A instead of an A+ was that we has a spanish -italian wedding and the italian music I asked for was not played but if thats they only thing that was done wrong I will take it lol. I have heard plenty of DJ horror stories so as far as i can say I think they were wonderful and I would hire them again for something.

Regal Limo A+

We had a beautiful white Hummer come to pick up myself and my girls. It was absolutely beautiful. They were very officiant in time and very reasonably priced.

Gennaro Jewelers A+

All of the jewelry from the setting for my engagement ring (The diamond was from my Grandmothers engagement ring and I used her wedding band) My husbands wedding ring and all of our attendant gifts were purchased from here. They were wonderful and very helpful helping us find the perfect item we were looking for. I would never buy any piece of jewelry from anywhere else

Executive Inn-Woodbury A+

We had all of our out of town guests stay here and they loved it. There was a shuttle that took them to the Fox Hollow and picked them up and they were given breakfast in the morning. My guests said the rooms were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. They were also very helpful with any of my questions and concerns-Highly recommended

Madison Avenue Photo-Photo and Video

Photographer- A+

Our photos were absolutely perfect. The photographer, Everette, was wonderful. He was so energetic and my family loved him. I picked him personally as the photographer since he had done both of my sisters weddings. My ring bearer was sick and miserable the day of our wedding and he did whatever he could to cheer him up so that we could get him in some pictures. He even lead us all to sing the Barney theme song to make him smile. He was so professional and courteous and I would not have wanted anyone else for our day. He was perfect

Flower Girl Dresses-Davids Bridal-C

Now I am not a fan of Davids Bridal because I think the customer service there is awful but they had the perfect flower girl dresses for my girls so I went with it. They told me they would call when they came in around December-well it was getiing close to Christmas and i had not heard from them so I called and they said they sent me an e-mail almost 2 months prior that they were ready. Now i dont have the time to check my email everyday and to be honest during the whole planning process i was getting so much junk email that i probably erased it. iwas so angry because I gave them my home, work and cell number to contact me and they chose to just send one email that the dresses were in.


Bocarra-Hair-A

They did a wonderful job helping me pick out the perfect style to wear and my makeup came out fabuolous. i would highly recommend their services but will warn you they are pricey but it was worth it

Chocolate Duck-wedding favors-C

Now I loved my favors. They were beautiful white chocolate heart shaped boxes filled with red foiled heart shaped chocolates and a red heart on the top. I brought a swatch of the color red that I was using so I could match the red as close as possible. When it came time to pick up my favors to take them to the hall 4 days before our wedding they seemed like they were in a rush to get them in my car. I kindly said that I would like to see them before hand and when they took them out the favors for my Valentines Day Wedding were Barney the dinosaur purple-not red in any way and they argued with me and told me that this is what I picked out. I took out the swatch again said this is what i picked out and then they could not argue with me no longer. I will say that they did not offer me any money back on these favors which were not cheap at all but they did make a rush order and personally deliver them to the Fox Hollow for me since I was running short of time. The Fox Hollow then called me when they arrived to tell me they were the perfect color. When i saw them I could not have been more pleased. They did a wonderful job correcting the situation.

Bridesmaid Dresses-Renates A+

We picked out our dresses there right away. The saleswoman was so helpful and she helped us pick the perfect dress so that all my girls would be comfortable. The alterations were done perfectly and the owner Donna is such a wonderful lady-I would go back there in a heartbeat

My Dress-Bridal Reflections, Massapequa- F

This was probably the worst of all of our vendors. I had a lovely time there picking out the dress and the sales woman was so sweet and helpful but when it came time for alterations it was all downhill from there. My first fitting was horrible. i had lost 10 pounds so that I could fit into this dress and when I got there it would not close. They told me I must have gained 12-15 pounds in 3 months which could not have been further from the truth. I had to show them my book from weight watchers to prove I had lost weight lololol..So sad and they even ordered the dress much bigger in the first place. It turns out they ordered the wrong size and made me pay to get it taken out. i was horrified. Then every time i went there was a problem. They were supposed to add a halter to the dress and they 'forgot' to do that. Then the halter was never put on right. It just hung there and looked awful. The dress was too long and i kept telling them I was tripping over it and they said oh no its fine. When I went to pick up my dress they could not find it. When I got it home and tried it on it was still too big, the halter was hanging everywhere, they did not even put my dress in a garment bag justt a plastic wrap and it was not even ironed. i was in hysterics. I called them and they laughed at me about it so I hung up.

I called the woman Donna from Renates where we had gotten the bridemaid dresses in hysterics and she told me to come right over.

I needed over 3 inched taken off the hem. The halter had to be completely done over and the top of my dress near my chest needed to be taken in more as well. She was disgusted at how they had given me this dress. Donna and her seamstress stayed there all day fixing my dress that Bridal Reflection destroyed. She was my angel. She even felt horrible charging my but there was so much work that had to be done on it that I would have never not payed for it. Its just said that I paid Bridal reflections over $300 in alterations and they did nothing not even iron my dress and Renates did all this work and charged me half of that. They even took the time to iron my dress and give me a gramet bag for my dress lol. I did not get my dress home until 5pm the night before my wedding. I hope everyone reads this and passes this on as to how horrible the alteration dept at Bridal reflections is. They butchered my dress and showed no remorse and if I can save one bride from going through what i went through it would be so worth it.

I would like to personally thank Donna at Renates in Lindenhurst and her staff for caring so much. when i came into her shop with my dress crying she looked at me and said 'We will fix this, no brides cry in my store' and by the time I left i was all smiles. My dress fit me like a glove and it was all due to her and her staff. There should be more vendors like Donna out there and I owe her so much. Thank you Donna.

I hope my review was helpful to you. I wish all of you a lifetime of love and happieness and the best wedding day ever. Like i said all the issues that come up will mean nothing the day of your wedding. I woke up on cloud nine that morning and all went perfect. Soak it all in and enjoy yourselves.

I am in shock over what they did to you at Bridal Reflections. That is absolutely terrible and disgusting. Thank God for Donna at the other salon!

Yeah it was pretty horrible. They had no compassion what so ever but it all worked out in the end. I lost alot of money over it but there is nothing I can do about that..but nobody I know will ever step foot in there after seeing what they did to me and for now thats good enough.
