My wedding Review 9/25: Crest Hollow, High Voltage, Flowers by Emil, Willi Wong, Royalty Limo, etc

The Wedding was wonderful! Thanks for all the help during the planning process! I got some really good ideas from these boards such as the Photo Scavenger Hunt, the Photo Signing Board, etc! I wanted to provide my review to help share and help you all in return.

Crest Hollow Country Club- 10/10 Awesome! They did a great job! When we arrived around 5pm, we were escorted to our bridal suite. The suite was HUGE! Some close friends and family have arrived early to take pictures with us before the ceremony. I invited them to join us in the bridal suite and it fit at least 30 of us in there and it was still roomy. They had some appitizers and drinks set up in there so everyone got a bite to eat beforehand. My bridal attendant and BM were both very organized and ran everything very smoothly.
The outdoor cocktail hour and starlight room was beautifully decorated!!! I could not have asked for more! The feedback I got on the food was that it was pretty good! I tried the prime rib and really liked that. The chicken milanese was okay but not as good as the prime rib. The funny thing about the whole thing is that the carrots that accompanied the food was AWESOME! I loved them! My mom's friends were raving over the dessert. I didn't have a chance to try it but I hear it was really yummy!

Photography - Willi Wong 10/10!
Willi was one of my favorite vendors! He truely went above and beyond! He showed up 1 hour early to my house and started snapping away! He and his assistant took over 1400 images! I got the digital package so I was handed all my pictures at the end of the night! They even stayed later and continued to snap away! The pictures came out really nice! The added bonus was that he was able to communite with the family when taking the family portraits. I would give him a 11/10!!!

Flowers by Emil - 8/10
I gave my florist mixed reviews. I LOVED the my bouqet and my girls' flowers. They came out really nice. The centerpieces were also really nice so they did well on all the big items. Now when it came to details, the bouqets were half wrapped and not full wrapped like I asked for (not a big problem but different from my original request). The mother's corsages were a totally different orchid than I was showed originally. The one he showed us upfront was a big pink and white orchid but the one that arrived the day of was a smaller white orchids. These I felt were not worth $20 each! My biggest upset was the cake. Crest Hollow said the Florist is the one that decorates the cake so I called up and asked that some roses get put on top and have the flowers cascade down the side. I know the florist was decorating the cake as a free service but I thought the cake looked really hidous! It looked like the person just poked a whole bunhc of flowers on top and at the side of the cake. Lesson learned from this is to be more specific and bring a picture of what you want! The roses provided for the cake were big really nice roses but the one doing the 'decorating' really needed some help!

High Voltage - 10/10
Awesome job! Vinny and his assistant were wonderful. He played lots of good music and kept people on the dance floor all night! At one point, his assistant proactively got on the dance floor and lead the Cha Cha Slide when he noticed people weren't figuring out what to do. What a lifesaver! Couldn't be happier with them. They were definately my most 'best bang for your buck' vendor!

Hair and makeup - Sachiko Yanise 10/10 She was great with asian faces! My mom and I had our makeup done by her and my girls all had their hair done. She was on time and super sweet to work with. We all selected our hair styles and she did a great job making everyone look wonderful. My mom and I got so many complements on her hair and makeup and it lasted all day long. Her friends are still raving about it!

Officiant - William Corbett - 10/10
He did a good job. He was very organized and faxed me a list of commonly used vows and ideas. I went through and picked the parts I liked and added in a sand ceremony I learned about on this site! Thanks girls! He liked my idea so much, he asked me where I got the bottles and sand from (his neice was getting married soon too!) He added the poem for the sand ceremony and handled the addition perfectly.

Dresses - 10/10
I got my dress from the Filenes Basement 'Running of the Brides' Sample Sale for $260! Such a Great deal! I got lots of complements on the dress! I also changed 3x as part of chinese tradition so i got my second blue dress at Macy's and the third silver dress at Lord and Taylor, and lastly the red chinese Chi Pao at Shanghai Tang in Hong Kong. All the dresses were a hit!

BM Dresses: 10/10 Netbride.com
I ordered my bm dresses from netbride.com. All was very smooth. They were able to beat RK Bridal by 5% and because they are based in another state, I got no tax added either! The dresses arrived in perfect shape ahead of schedule! Saved me tons of money!

Tuxes - Mens Warehouse Bayside
The boys got their tuxes at Mens Warehouse in Bayside. We had a good experience there. All the tuxes were in great condition (Nicely pressed and very new looking). My dad's vest was a bit too small so we took it back and they were able to alter it on the spot! The people we delt with were very nice and we got a good deal by going to a bridal show. The tuxes were $59.99 each!

Registries
Amazon.com and Bed Bath and Beyond. I had good experiences with both. From Amazon.com, everything came nicely packaged and their online site keeps track of who bought what and has a thank you section for you to send a e-card. I thought this was a nice functionality to have.
Bed Bath and Beyond was also very good. The best part is their return policy which allows for cash refunds! People buying your gift can also use the 20% coupon to get a discount. They can find these coupons usually by signing up and it arrives via mail or many bridal magazines have them as well.

Royalty Limo - 9/10
We had a clean and on time limo! The driver was very nice and did a great job in helping with everything! The only reason why I gave them a 9 is because I was promised a complementary pickup from the reception hall by a towncar at the end of the evening. We wanted 1/2 hour for that car to show up (12:30 AM!) and we never saw the driver. We tried calling the office but obviously no one was there at that time of night! Luckily one of our groomsmen had room in his car and gave us a ride back to my mom's place!

-Chocolate in bulk from Costco
-Tulle and Ribbon from Michaels


Reception Table Setup
The centerpieces were yellow roses with red tips.. can't remember the name for the life of me! They were placed in a bubble bowl with vines winded around the bottom of the bowl


Photo Scavenger Hunt
We also did table cameras with a Photo Scavenger Hunt! (I got that great idea from you girls!!) It was a hit with the younger crowd!)
