I keep watching the days go by and it doesn't seem like I am making enough progress on our wedding...My fiance and I own a business together and it takes up ALOT of our time, but I am really looking forward to planning the wedding!
I am starting to think that I need some help. I know pretty much what I want so its not necessarily the idea part, but the vendor recommendations, and just feeling good about my choices, and also the comparison shopping, sticking to a timeline...
Is that what they do? I signed in here today and it says I have 200 days until the wedding and that kind of freaked me out! So far I have the hall, officiants, my dress, and a really expensive proposal for flowers...
My budget would allow about 2-3,000 for this. Is that in the ballpark?

Re: Do I need a wedding coordinator?
Hi and congratulations!
Feeling like you're behind is a really common feeling, as you probably gathered from the boards. If you have made a conscious decision to make the planning process enjoyable then it will be.
Do you need a coordinator? This is really a matter of your comfort levels. Many of my couples who have long hours just like to have someone keeping their ducks in a row for them. Peace of mind is priceless and planning a wedding is so stressful!
One of the best things about being a Bride in the 21st century is that there really are no rules. Unfortunately this is also one of the most confusing parts of it all. Although you believe you know what you want, you pay a good coordinator for their eye. Professionals do this every weekend and have a better idea of what your options are. They ask you questions to help you figure out what is important to you. Sometimes these are things that you never even considered, sometimes they just reconfirm that you were on the right track all along.
The comparison shopping was a good point as well. You definitely want the best value for your money which is not always the cheapest you can go.
If not a full planner, a DOC lets you just enjoy your day, which is also a wonderful thing. They are like WD40 or Norton Anti-Virus for your wedding day.
I particularly love working with them in unrestricted venues (the places where you really just get a space then have to fill it up yourself)
Just my 2 cents! Have a wonderful wedding and many happy years to follow!

Re: Do I need a wedding coordinator?
Hi
A wedding coordinator can be very helpful and yes, reserving a professional wedding coordinator to help with the timeline of your wedding, and to also insure that everyone (vendors and etc) are where they are supposed to be and doing what you requested is along the lines of the help that is provided by a professional coordinator, Additionally a good wedding coordinator can help you with advice and with recommendations of service providers whom he/she have found to be helpful, experienced, and reputable.
There are excellent coordinators advertised right here on liweddings.com. The budget you mentioned (2-3K) should certainly be more than enough for you to reserve a top notch coordinator for full services. I shave also sent you a forum mail with more information..
Congratulations! It is very common for you to feel a little overwhelmed as your mwedding date gets closer. I think a wedding coordinator is the perfect solution to make things work stress free.
I am sending you an fm with pricing for the above mentioned services.
