Outdoor wedding

My fiance and I are looking for a location on Long Island for an outdoor wedding. We are trying to avoid the traditional 'wedding factories' Maybe renting some sort of house and having the wedding in the backyard? Any suggestions?

Hello and congratulations!

'Some sort of house' Like a B&B? Wonderful idea, many of the ones that I have done in little inns have been turned into weekend get aways for some of the guests, which I thought was nice. Long Island has more of these as you go out east but there is also Shelter Island, Fire Island and the Hudson River Valley. Do you have a general idea of about where you wish to look?

Keep an eye out for a review of the June wedding we just did at the Dune Deck/Patagonia West restaurant in Westhampton Beach. I thought it was wonderful, but I wasn't the bride!! I'm very interested in hearing her perceptions of it but from my perspective, watching her going down the path to the beach looked like watching a movie or a magazine come alive. With her veil in the wind it looked positively dream-like.
