I am not getting married until July 3, 2005. I would like to start booking my vendors some time soon, but I am worried if it is TOO soon. Any opinions would be appreciated. All we have booked so far is the reception hall (the Bourne Mansion).

Re: Question for all vendors....
It's never too soon! One thing that you can count on is that prices do go up on a regular basis. Book now and chances are you may get a better price. Booking early can also increase the liklihood that your vendor will be available on your date. Last minute shoppers often loose out!
Good luck!

Re: Question for all vendors....
Congratulations to you and your beloved! From my point of view, if you need to book now to be comfortable then book now. It all depends on what YOU need not to worry. As a minister that writes with you, I would only be able to give you an outline now. Much of how you feel will change by 2005, as may the things you need to promise one another to help safeguard your future. By the same token much will stay the same. So in short I believe that whatever you need to be happy is what you should do. Please remember that I say this without knowing how all the other vendors services are structured to give you the best day.
Many healthy happy years to you and your beloved. Feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.

Re: Question for all vendors....
We have bookings well into 2005 on our calander. It is not too early. However, if your searching for a bargain , booking way in advance, (over 18 months), would not be the best way to go. Vendors have plenty of time to book that date with a full price paying client and would not be too inclined to bend on certain things. So the idea, in my opinion, of book early to get a deal probably won't work. However, every vendor is different. Some give discounts regularly, some rarely. As far as here at Doctor Dance, we welcome our 2005 clients and encourage early booking.
hope that helps!

Re: Question for all vendors....
Thank you for all of your responses. I'm looking to book early just for peace of mind, not for a price break I just know how holiday weekends can book up and want to make sure we have the pick of vendors that we want. Any more opinions would be very welcomed. Thanks!

Re: Question for all vendors....
Hi,
I absolutely recommend that you book your vendors early. My daughter got married 3 years ago and we booked early. We were able to get everything crossed off our list, were not forced into making spur of the moment decisions and were able to book the BEST while they were still available. As it got closer to the wedding we had time to relax and enjoy ourselves - even got a couple of days in at the spa for relaxing massages. It was a great mother daughter bonding time.
Hope this helps - Happy planning!

Re: Question for all vendors....
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I agree with the other vendors - book early! There is so much to do for the wedding, booking early allows you to be more organized and make smart decisions.
It may even help you with your budget, many vendors will give payment plans!
Thank you so much everyone! I really wanted to hear it from the vendor's point of view. I appreciate all of your responses!

The vendors are right-now is definitely the time to get the most important vendors booked. We are well into bookings for 2005. The Bourne Mansion is beautiful and Ben is great to work with.
