Traditional Irish music

I am very interested in having a traditional Irish ceili band play at either the cocktail hour or for a portion of my reception in December of 2005. (Bodhran drum, fiddle, tin whistle, etc) If anyone has any suggestions or price quotes please FM me. Thank you very much.

Re: Traditional Irish music

Ooooh, I love this request!

It's not quite my forte to fulfill, though.

Are you familiar with the Boston Burglers? That's the most Irish band I know of. (I don't think they're from Boston...) They're more rocknroll than what you're describing. But they might have contacts for you.

All I can offer you myself is celtic harp with flute and tin whistle. I'd love to play with the drum! but I've only played with that kind of ensemble once, years ago. (On the other hand, think how beautiful a celtic harp and flute/whistle ensemble would be at your wedding!)

If you want to check it out more, give me a call. I'll be happy to brainstorm with you. (call the local Irish cultural centers? visit the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo Park?)

Regards,

Janet
