For Brides to Be - Ways to Personalize your Wedding (WITH PICS)
Okay, I am posting the things I did that my guests LOVED!!!
We did the:
1. Votive placecards
2. Polariod guestbook (I love this!!!! This is one of my most cherished items!!!)
3. A collage of pictures which was A BIG HIT!! These pictures included the majority of guests at our wedding, they loved seeing these pictures if themselves (pictures included pictures of Phil and I, our friends, me and my MOH at prom, our parent's weddng pictures, me and my siblings growing up, Phil and his sister, me and my college friends, Phil and his collage friends etc...)
Every Loved the picture of Phil with long hair. Everyone loved the picture of my mom at my age now. We look so much alike. It was such a big hit and it made our guests feel included.
3. The casual day picture that the guests signed
4. Our menu
5. Our CD as favor.
I am adding pictures of each item.
If you have any questions please feel free to FM me. I hope this helps all you future brides. Have fun planning, it's worth it!!!

Oh how I wish I had taken Laura's suggestion and done the polaroid guest book. So many people didn't get around to signing mine

wow! Those look great! I wasn't going to do anything, but it looks so beautiful, and I am really thinking of doing it. I love how you have a frame with the two of you at the gust book setting. I think I am doing to steal that one from you!

I like the polaroid guest book and the collage pictures idea. I'm already doing the votive candles and casual picture.

Could you give us more details!! I would like to know about how you set the polariod guestbook up- Like did you put a sign with directions? I think if I don't draw attention to it somehow people will just walk buy!
I love your collage idea! That is a great way of including everyone in your wedding...
also- how did you do your votives? it looks like the engraving is actually on the glass!! Very nice!
thanks for sharing!!!

Instead of a regular guestbook that everyone signs, my Day of Coordinator (Laura) and her assistants took pictures of our guests during the cocktail hour with a polaroid camera. I am sure you can have a trusted family friend do this for you, but don't have anyone in the BP do it.
Then either the guests or Laura (my Day of Coordinator) pasted them into the guestbook and the guest wrote something next to their picture.
The photo collage was the biggest hit among our guests. Phil and I went through all our photos and found photos of us and our friends.
I had my mom and Phil's mom go through their photos and give us photos of us as kids with our siblings, baby pictures, aunts, uncles, our parent's wedding pictures, etc...
We took these photos and photocopied them on a color printer. We took the photocopies, cut them to fit in the collage. We didn't cut up any pictures, just the photocopies.
Our guest's loved this, because most of them were included in the collage. I heard our guests saying, 'Hey did you make it into the collage?'
I was going to try and do the votives myself, but I had eye surgery about 1 1/2 before the wedding was quite frankly overwhelmed. So I asked Laura to make them.
I got the votives with the frosted heart off of ebay and the tealights from Michaels and gave to them to Laura.

ok! One more question!
with the votives, did it say your name and date on one side, and then their name and table number on the back? Also, since your votives were frosted, were the labels clear?
Thanks for the hints!

Just the guest(s)'s name and the table #.
It was vellum paper, not clear labels.

Thanks for the ideas. Quick question(s). How much did it cost to do the collage? In addition, can you give more information about the casual day pic? Did people sign the picture? Was it too much for the guests to do? I mean I'm trying to think if it's the area might be too congested because they have to sign the guestbook and the casual day pic? I'm planning to do the polaroid camera. Where did you buy yours from?

The collage was so cheap. We bought the frame in Michaels for less than $20. It was actually a print on sale, but we only wanted the frame.
Regarding the casual day picture, I honestly haven't seen the end product. Duet still has it. I got my proofs in the beginning of November, but forgot to ask for the casual picture that was signed by our guests. I had the Thank You pictures mailed to my home.
I really need to get it. I would love to see it the more I think about it.
I don't think it was too much for our guests. I think what was happening was they were attracted to the collage, then saw that people were signing the picture. I believe the signing of the guestbook was done before the cocktail hour ended. Actually, I'll ask Beth (nov04LIbride) to read this and comment. She was a guest at my wedding and to be honest I wasn't around for the logistics alot of the time.
We bought the polaroid camera and the film at BJs. We bought the guest book from Laura of LA Productions (she is a vendor on here).
