never in a million years did i think i would get a MIL like her... FSIL got married 4 years ago...i mean didnt she go through this whole marrriage process thing when it came to her daughter?? didnt she want her daughter's inlaws to be nicee?? so now that the time has come for her sons wedding...why than is she so BIZZARE

UPDATE: so yesterday was my shower...it was beautifulllllllllll.....my MOH and my mom always knew i didnt want a big shower.... even though im having 400 ppl at the wedding they only invited the closest ppl to the shower there were about 35 ppl there...all family n friends
so the time given to everyone was 4:00pm...so we could hang out..chat/talk/ play games /dance...before dinner.....well FSIL and FMIL came at 6:30!!!!!! .... 2 and a half ours late?? i can even understand coming at 5! but that late...i was so embarassed everyone was wondering where they were..... and when she finally came..she gave everyone an attitude and barely said Hi to me
i wanted to CRY....i didnt tell FH this...all we do is than fight about it...

I cant stand my mother in law but yet my mom is so cool so FH made out. FMIL does the same thing....treats FH like hes 10 years old. FH knows his mom is weird and treats him like that. My FMIL doesnt have daughters so I wonder her problem is.....dont sweat it.

I'm with you! I can't stand my FMIL...she's so greedy and self centered and demanding that I almost broke off my engagement! The thing to keep in mind is that if you have signficiant issue with what she does, talk to your FH about it. Once i brought it all out in the open, things got 100% better - not perfect, but better.

my FMIL used to be great - up until after we got engaged (of course, the guest list started the dramam - when does it not?!) then she turned into a whiny, spoiled child who cries when she doesn't get what she wants. lol... and then shw complains when she doesn't get consulted before we do wedding stuff - well, duh, when you aren't contributing, and aren't showing ANY interest, then no, you don't get to put in your 2 cents!!!
the only good thing that came out of this is that FH 'decided' (yeah like i didn't plant the idea in his head first) that we are moving out of his parent's mother/daughter and into an apartment as soon as the wedding and honeymoon are over.

Ugh, Sara I am so sorry. She is such a miserable biotch! Don't let her get to you sweetie. It could have been worse - she could have shown up on time. Seriously, I think that would have been worse because then you would have had to deal with her for two extra hours. At least the beginning of your shower was drama free. Don't let her get you down - just because she is miserable doesn't mean you have to be. And don't let her get between you and FH.

I'm so sorry you are going thru all this . If you and FH fight about FMIL I would like to say it's btter to not talk about it. Is there a way to approach the subject asking him if he knows what happened and why they were late? Maybe he doesn't know. This woman knows how to push your buttons and seems to do it very well! My best advice for you is turn her off and tune her out. Whatever you have to do, erase her. It's gonna be so hard, but this woman is gonna give you an anxiety attack!

Ahh....thefamous 'my mothers not that bad'...I had to put my 2 cents in here....my FMIL is a control freak with EVERTHING!! She controls her husband, he in turn ignores her completly, she in turn, turns to her sons for the male admiration...Blech..makes me want to puke...I figured her out all on my own....Now, I don't even waste my time...I see her when I have to, I'm nice, then as hard as it is, I let her stupid comments roll right off my back! In doing this, FH has realized how infantile her behavior truly is....eventually, he will see the light on his own. Good luck!! FMIL's =
