25 Random things...

So every now & then we used to post surveys over here on the newlywed board...i figured since there are a bunch of newbies & some of us 'oldies'(ahem: ME lol) it would be fun and let us get to know each other a little more...I stole this from facebook...lol..if u're bored - why not

List 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.

1. I was named after a tv character that Nicolette Sheridan played back in the day..on an old soap called 'Paper Dolls' :)

2. I love Jesus so much that it sometimes even makes me an emotional mess..& i want everyone to feel that love. I have this crazy idea of playing shows at random bars/clubs/lounges/etc. and throwing worship music in there.. only noone will really know it's worship..and everyone will wonder 'just who IS this guy she's talking about'?? and i'll get to tell them :)

3. I love my family more than they could ever know(and my true friends count in that equation)..work & location is a major factor right now, but that doesn't mean that I don't think about them & wish I was spending time with them every single day.

4. I am HORRIBLE at making phonecalls. I'm workin' on it.

5. I love crime solving/special agent shows...once upon a time(& i still think about it from time to time ;) ) i wanted to be a crime scene investigator, or on a SWAT team...then I discovered the entertainment business and realized I could be all of that without getting a bullet in my head or my butt kicked :) ..still waiting for that action movie where i can be on the special forces!lol.

6. I love the smell of grass...and the smell of gasoline at the gas station(yes..for real lol)..

7. Living in the city has given me a whole new appreciation for fall & winter. There is nothing like bundeling up, grabbing a cup of coffee & just enjoying the atmosphere of this great place :)

8. I have a sick sense of intuition(most women do) that I inherited from my mother..sometimes it really freaks me out..and no - i'm not a wierdo - i swear :)

9. I have amazing childhood memories of just playing in my neighborhood with a million kids and spending time with my cousins...it makes me sad that kids these days want to grow up so fast & that their only concern is ipods, cellphones, and being 'mature'

10. I would love to live in Europe just for a year...I think it would be amazing..so would the west coast..but then I would feel like I've missed so much in my loved one's lives..so who knows..maybe just a long really extended vacation is best :)

11. I used to never cry at movies, weddings, music, plays, etc....then I got married and it turned me into a complete sap. I have no idea what happened lol.

12. After years(YEARS) of battle, I've finally learned to love myself just the way I am..I am comfortable & confident in my own skin - and my husband thinks it's the sexiest thing in the world :) Infact the very thing I hated most growing up just so happens to be his favorite part of me... who knew ;)

13. I love roadtrips & just driving in general. I can be all by myself, but once that music goes on it's an AWESOME thing.

14. I can actually say I love my job & every one of my co-workers..including my boss..

15. I love going to tiny little venues and hearing new musicians..it's probably one of my favorite things to do.

16. A lot of people have never REALLY seen me dance...teach me a hiphop routine & u'd be suprised how this little white girl can break it down ;) give me a pair of tap shoes & i promise u'll be suprised & actually enjoy it :) ..and I also love sports..and am convinced that if I actually played them I really would be good..

17. I can sing on a stage in front of ten million people and be completely comfortable...however put me in a living room with someone I know and I can't do it..I'm probably the most nervous you'll EVER see me.

18. I consider my family to be my best friends and my best friends to be my family no matter how much time goes by. I admire my mother & grandmother more than they will ever know..they both deserve nothing less than unconditional love & happiness.

19. I am so crazy about my husband it's not even funny..it's almost ridiculous how much my heart feels for him and how happy he makes me :) We went through a lot before we got married that most people don't know about - but we both faught for what we now have. He is my best friend..and I truly KNOW that God made him just for me.

20. I love food and coffee..probably more than anyone else u know!

21. I am glad that I have a HUGE extended family..and that we've all kept our relationship through the years..it's a rare and wondeful thing :)

22. I love to sleep and enjoy the rain(especially in the summer).

23. I love animals..and learning about religions..okay that was like - two things - but oh well.lol.

24. I have an obsession with art...whether it be a painting, architecture, music, a movie, tattoos, fashion..I am intrigued by all of it. I think 'The Suncreen Song' is a profound piece of art.

25. Church is one of my favorite things of the week & i mean that with all sincerity. For anyone who has not had an amazing experience with it, I encourage you...come to my church and you'll understand why :)

16. When I walk up or down a flight of stairs, I must always finish with my right foot. Sometimes this means I have to do a double-step for the bottom step, and DH thinks it’s incredibly cute.



wow i do the same thing, i have to also end with my right foot and yes sometimes i do a double step. BUt if theres stairs i use all the time i know ahead of time which foot to start with that will end with my right foot lol. Its weird


my first roommate in college also did the same thing! the subway stairs i use everyday, stairs in the house, those i know which foot to start on. i actually get self-conscious when i do the double step in public, but i can't NOT do it.

1. I had bleach blonde hair as a kid and miss it so much that I refuse to be my natural color

2. I used to gag at the sight of vomit and always thought how I would be able to change a baby's diaper, but now with a puppy it's changed me since I have to clean up his messes!

3. I love living in LI, but really do miss living in Queens.

4. I am obsessed with doing things for our house.

5. I've never been happy with my weight.

6. I've always wanted to be a teacher, never did, but now just recently fixing it.

7. I love living in NY. I think NYC is the best city in the world. I will never move!

8. I love entertaining.

9. I am an awesome baker.

10. I am so grateful my parents made me take swimming lessons as a child so I would never be afraid of the water.

11. I am always right (ask DH!).

12. I cannot stand it when people try to blow smoke up my @ss. You lose a lot of respect from me and chances are I won't want anything to do with you again.

13. I love wine.

14. I hate when people can't keep plans.

15. I had a great childhood with a great family that I have gotten closer with as I grew up.

16. I discovered the meaning of true friendship and feel blessed to have the friends I do.

17. My dad gave me the name Mici (pronounced Michie). I love that name and only let him and my uncle call me that.

18. I hate when people call me Shelly!

19. I have the cutest dog in the world.

20. My husband is my absolute best friend. I love that we can go on a car ride for 15 hours and will always have something to talk about.

21. I am a text message addict.

22. I was anti-blackberry until just recently and will be getting one in March.

23. I'm frustrated I can't teach my dog how to go to the bathroom outside.

24. I love food, but am picky with things I eat. My meat has to be cooked well done. My fish has to be pan seared or grilled and I'll only eat certain kinds. I peel the skin of chicken wings. I won't eat cooked spinach. I think marshmallows are gross.

25. I love the beach and can be there all day. So glad my parents have their beach house and I got to spend all my summers there.

The whole barbie thing, I will admit that too so that you don't feel alone! I will say I didn't stop until about 15 though. I had no friends and I just loved dressing them up.
I also had my lip and eyebrows pierced! And I agree with you on the Marilyn Manson thing. I was never a fan, but I completely see what you mean.

OH,oh and the tower of london. AWESOMEEEEE lol



DH is a hair metal guy, and he's the one who got me into Manson. I soooo hated them, but they do have one good album, i'll give them that much.

27. I can only eat chicken if my mom or I cook it

28. I have a shopping problem big time when I was younger I got nothing and when I started working I spent all my money on my loser boyfriend at the time

29. My favorite color is yellow, and my I love fall

30. I can be just as happy for people's good fortune as though it was my own

31. I have an awesome member it one of the few things I am proud of

32. I am so glad I married a plumber and think he looks so cute in his Roto Rooter outfit :)

33. I hate the tpye of people who cant be happy for others it bothers me it cant always be about you

34. I am a strong believer in Karma

26. I am a gum chewer, I always need a piece in my mouth and sometimes get yelled at to stop snapping it

27. I love desserts. I would rather eat desserts first and then my dinner.

28. I am a picky eater. I hate hamburgers, steak, fish (all kinds), pork chops ewww

29. I am the biggest procrastinator. But I def work better under pressure

30. I am a closet nerd. I had a 4.0 all throughout my Masters so far and graduated with a 3.9 in undergrad and was mad at myself. I get mad when I get an A- or B+ on papers/tests.

31. I count things and read things. Like I have to count signs or read off tele # in my head that are on signs, trucks, etc. always while driving

32. I love all reality TV shows, like Denise said even family real life shows, or about the discovery or history channel etc.

makes you realize youre not the only one with weird habits lol

here are some others of mine

26-i am not fond of ice lol, i cant have more than 2 ice cubes in my glass, MAYBE 3 the max if its really warm and a very big glass. DH's family is huge on ice and they find it weird. Even at restaurants i ask for just 2 ice cubes,otherwise i cant drink it lol.

27-another thing dh's family always points out is how i dont eat salad. Its very rare and especially not a regular salad, Only salad i eat really is caesar salad. I also get grilled chicken salads alot but eat the chicken, and if theres cheese or nuts in it but thats it, he doesnt understand why i even gt the salad lol

28-I am obsessed with cheese and use WAY too much parmesan cheese on pasta, i seriously can use half the bottle at just one dinner.

29-I dont drink hot drinks, tea maybe if im sick but thats it and rarely. Never drink coffee. And I am OBSESSED with redbull, have to have 2 a day no matter what

30-i do the craziest thing where each word is given a number. Ive been doing it since i was a little kid so now i can do it so quick and dont have to think about it lol. I confessed this to my friends once and they found it weird. But basically obviously each letter in the alphabet has a number 1-26, so if a word has the letter A in it then whatever the highest letter is gets that number, such as Married would be 18 since R is the highest in the alphabet and the 18th letter. IF there is no A i take the highest letter from the lowest letter and subtract their numbers. I can look at full sentences and just assign the numbers to them immediately since by now i know every combination there is and have done alot of words numerous times. Such as the word 'times' T is the highest and E is the lowest so it would be 20-5 since T is 20th letter and E is 5th letter in the alphabet, so means its 15 lol. I cant stop doing it either, i do it all the time. I know its crazy

I am so so so very sorry to hear about your loss. I do have to say that what your mother told you was so great. DH and I hardly fight, but when I get mad that he doesn't help me clean sometimes I will remember that. That was so sweet.

26) i can not STAND the sound or feeling of cardboard rubbing together..same goes for construction paper, or paper bags..anything of that nature! it is the equivelant of nails on a chalkboard for me!

- i am also sometimes afraid of the dark, and am afraid of open closets lol.

26) I constantly think about getting paper cuts. I will be in the car on the way home and think about getting a paper cut from a piece of cardboard on my finger, and I will almost go off the road

27) I was never obese, I am not obese now, but I am chubby. After the guy I dated before DH, broke up with me I only ate one meal a day if that. I was crackhead skinny, and I would do it all over again just to not be so chubby. :(

28) If someone questions my intelligence, I get really , really hurt and I will be upset/depressed for days.

29) I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and always think I am going to have a heart attack , every minute of every day. I am on medication, and eating right, but I still worry.

30) I have a hard time remembering something someone just told me 2 secons ago, I write down everything. I go through all the pads in the office faster than anyone lol


31) I am with Taryn on this one, I am deathly afraid of the dark. DH makes fun of me all the time, but I do not like the dark.

my mom used to have this exact fear until we went to Macy's in the city once and she said it cured her lol The escalators there are old and wooden. I don't know what it was, but she was cured after that trip!

that is a GREAT way to look at things! we're all told to 'pick our battles'..but what an awesome way to give that piece of advice

OMG thats my fear about surgery. Or like those ppl i saw real life stories about where their body was numb and they couldnt move or talk but they were awake and can hear everything and some say feel too. Thats why the movie awake freaked me out so much, that was worse for me than most scary movies, the whole movie i was cringing and dh thought i was crazy but the thought of it scares me

Yes! The whole feeling things and not being able to move thing scares the crap out of me!

I literally woke up, sat up (while they were removing my gallbladder!) and I just heard the Dr. say 'Oh sh*t!' and then I was out again. I didn't feel anything....

I don't react well to meds or anesthesia. I can feel when I have teeth drilled, etc. I'm immune to ALL pain kills. God bless me when/if I have a baby......

It was so fun reading everyone’s! here is mine

1. I love ice cream
2. I love cheese popcorn more than ice cream
3. I am supposed to be on a diet but went to crumbs bakery this weekend
4. I think that I am the worst dresser ever- I want to nominate myself for what not to wear.
5. I talk to my aunt in Florida almost every day. About 3 years ago, she had surgery and the doctor punctured her kidney and she almost died. Ever since that time, I cannot go more than 2 days without talking to her.
6. My job makes me who I am. I am so proud of what I do and the company that I work for- because I think we do make people’s lives better
7. I can see DH all day, and still miss him even if he steps out just to go to the store.
8. I hate one of DH’s friends. He did something terrible to DH and DH forgave him, and I never will.
9. I joke about being an XBOX widow. But its not a joke, my husband plays way more than any person I have ever heard of- and I don’t know what to do about it.
10. My godmother has MS and it scares the crap out of me. I am terrified of losing her.
11. My grandmother is 88 years old and I lived with her on and off for about 10 years and no one will ever make me laugh like she does. I love her and I am scared of losing her too.
12.I never got along with my sister until I moved out of the house, now she is my best friend. She moved to NY about 3 years ago, and now I cant imagine my life without her here.
13.One of my closest friends stopped talking to me two years ago and it still pains me almost every day and I have dreams about it.
14.My parents travel a lot and love being together, and it chokes me up how in love they are 35 years later.
15.I wish that I was more religious- I just read Taryn’s list of 25 and feel like something is missing in my life.
16.I wish I lived in Texas so I could go to Joel Osteen’s church- I watch his mass every Sunday and he inspires me and I always feel like God is speaking to me through him. Why else would I wake up every Sunday exactly in time for that show? lol
17.My best friend had a baby last Friday and she is the most precious beautiful thing in the world. I cannot wait till DH and I are ready for that step.
18.My washing machine floods our kitchen almost every time DH uses it because he puts too much soap into it. DH thinks its hysterical and says that he is washing the floors & our underwear at the same time lol
19.I really want a dog, but cant get one because of our lifestyle.
20.Lateness makes me crazy. Its rude.
21.DH and I entertain a lot but hardly any of our friends ever host anything.
22.I have never been satisfied with how I look or what I weigh- but I am working on liking myself- for some reason DH thinks I’m beautiful
23.DH tells me constantly that I have a big butt- but from him it’s a compliment
24.I suck at making rice so I make it in the microwave- DH thinks its hysterical
25.I want laser surgery, my glasses get in the way!

omg that is crazy but thank god you didnt feel it at least. I can only imagine how scary that was. Well just pray youll have luck when having a baby, at least with that we're awake so no chance of the same thing happening.

8. Barbie was my favorite toy growing up. I didn’t stop playing with them (on a regular basis) until I was 13 or 14. Even when I was single and lived alone, I would pull them out every once in a while to dress them up. (I cannot believe I’m admitting this, LOL).

I used to this to. Even in HS they sat in a box in my closet and every so often I'd take them out, brush their hair, dress them and put them away!! My brothers used to abuse me
I never considered that I still played with them - just kept them nice
Now I do it with my nieces when they want to play Barbies!!!
