Another baby question for those who aren't ready
How are you dealing with all of your friends that have babies already?Does it bother you? Do you have less and less people to hang out with?
I am happy for them and love their kids, but miss the old days when we could call and go out on the spur of the moment like we used to.

I'm lucky that most of my closest friends don't have kids yet, but there are fewer and fewer people going out these days. Or if they go out its for a short time and then they go home. Kind of makes me feel like our glory days are slowly fading.....

Re: Another baby question for those who aren't ready
I get a bit jealous and sad because my best friend who was married 6 months before me and her husband are trying for a baby now. I am happy for them and wish them all the best, but in a way I wish it were me trying too. But I know deep down that DH and I are doing the right thing by waiting for a house first and saving more money. My friend and her hubby rent a house now and once they have a baby it is going to be a bit harder to save for a house. DH and I just don't want to start off our family struggling to live. Good things come to those who wait!! Thats what I keep telling myself!!

my two closest girlfriends are pregnant and due within 2 Weeks of each other. When we all get together, they chat babies stories and compare stomachs. I drink my wine and think about all the fun and exciting stuff DH and I still have to do before we settle down with kids :)we're still newlyweds - I want atleast another year.
It has not changed my relationship with them however, they are still CRAZY GIRLS like I :)

Re: Another baby question for those who aren't ready
Just this past weekend my husband and I were talking about getting a group of friends to start a wine club where we would take turns hosting a wine tasting and everyone would bring a bottle of wine to share. We were going through our list of friends who liked wines to invite and several we had to drop off our list as they were pregnant or recently had a child and my husband was like 'I just got into the couples scene' and many of our friends are now onto the married with kids scene. It's definitely more difficult to hang out with couples with kids as you have differing interests and we end up having to do kid friendly activities in order to see our friends with kids.

All of my friends (except one or two) have kids, are pregnant or have moved away. Lately I've been really down about it.. feeling like we're not going to have any friends. Don't get me wrong, I adore my friends and I'm psyched for all the babies, but I still feel like we are young, and for them to be starting so quickly is sort of a freak out- especially since i'm still in graduate school...the thing with all my friends moving out of state/out of the area- that's another crazy thing which REALLY bothers me... so sad.

Re: Another baby question for those who aren't ready
Most of my friends are married with 2-3 kids each (I was one of the last ones to get married) We usually only go out just the girls and the hubbies stay home to watch the kids, so I still do get to see my friends. However it's DH friends that we do more couple things with and I'm starting to feel it now that one of the wives is pregnant. I'm thrilled for them but it's changed since she was my drinking/smoking buddy.

About the baby thing - whenever I see a pregnant girl my age or recently married i get SO jealous!! But I am glad that we are buying the house first so we can be prepared somewhat.
