I must be getting my period but I am getting so sad looking at all of these awesome trips you all have planned! Obviously, I am excited for you ladies, but I SO wish that DH and I could afford a nice vacation. Are we the only poor bastids out here?

Awwwww Lauren! I wish you could come on the cruise with us. Believe me we wouldnt be able to afford to go but I got money back from my student loan (and yes i know i have to pay that back) but I desperatley need a vacation. io knew the refund I got from my loan would either be spent on stupid things I dont need or on a vacation.....so bahamas here we come!

we are not going on a vacation. its save, save, save until we can buy a house. which may happen later then i originally thought, due to some family issues. ugh.
i did want to do a weekend, which we still may. if it can be under $500.

Probably not. I had to use 2/3 of my vacation time for my surgery last month. I'm hoping we'll at least be able to do a long weekend over the summer, but not sure. I could def use a vacation!

we aren't going anywhere either...I opted to go back to school instead.
if you consider going to NY with baby (no DH) to stay at my Aunt's for 6 days, then I guess I am going on a little vacay! But traveling with baby is anything but a vacay!!!

the only reason why I am going on vacation is b/c i won a free stay in a MIAMI hotel, and i have jet blue credit to fly b/c last year i had to cancel our trip to FLorida when Tom's uncle died.
im broke...but this trip is costing me NEARLY nothing...and i had to take advantage before it expires!

If by vacation you mean the two out of town weddings we have, then yes we are. Otherwise, no we can't afford it. Instead we are trying to visit friends in other cities so we just have to pay for gas... DC, Boston... we owe people visits so we figured this is a good year to do it.
Though we are going to Florida to my parents house down there in April, but my parents are paying to fly us there, including Candy, because my mom wants me there for the week. DH is just coming one of the weekends, and I think thats only so he can see Candy's reaction to the beach.

I am such a spoiled brat...we are saving for a house and still going on vacation...DH is not too happy with me but I cannot work to just work I need vacations. next year we will be limiting our vacations since we have our friends destination wedding in venezuela so I think instead of a party for my 30th bday will be going away somewhere.

We're saving for a house too (we've agreed on saving as much as we can for 5 years...plus we're paying down debt) But since it's a slow process, we've always said that before we're bogged down with a house & kids - we want to travel together - so we're somehow making it work. Disney in Sept 2010...Amsterdam thanksgiving 2011!

Money is tight for us right now, as I was out of work for 6 months and my student loans just kicked in. We are going to Key west for a wedding, and spending a few extra days, but I don't really consider that our vacation. We're gonna each take a week off together and do some day trips but no official vacation for us this year. It's sort of depressing.

Nope. Not us either. Unless by some miracle of God I do get another teaching job some time soon - we just cant afford to do it w/ me being unemployed & unemployment running out in 3 weeks - have NO idea what we'll do then
Plus my cousin is getting married in May - so between the shower, the hotel for the night of the wedding, the actual wedding gift....all things we could have used the $$ for to do a weekend somewhere, but what can ya do...

Most likely, no huge trip for us this year.
we have a lot of other stuff going on and the mention of a vacation hasn't really come up.
