changing my passport

Can anyone tell me if I have to send in my original marriage certificate with my passport to change my name, or can I send a copy of the marriage certificate? Thanks much.

YOu have to send the original, but they send it back. It's just like when you had to send in your birth certificate when you first got the passport.
