Christmas bonus

Just curious...with the economy the way it is I heard on the radio that a lot of comanys are either cutting down or not giving christmas bonuses at all...How many of you know if you are getting one this year or none at all?

Nope I work for NYC we don't get bonuses. I never got them at my old job either though so I don't miss it.

Last year my bonus was 15% of my total salary.

This year, I'm getting a big fat nothing.

BUT - I work for in the finance department for one of the Company's that got 'bailed out'

Its kind of rough for those of us that didn't do anything wrong - and busted our butts all year (I'm in the office working today after working all night on Friday until like 6am Saturday morning - I worked something like 75 hours this week). . .the guys who made the bad trades and decisions are still getting bonuses because they are the 'talent' of the Company.

I don't get a Christmas bonus. My job you get an anniversary raise which is when you are hired at your current position. And an annual raise which everyone gets usually this time of year. We were all getting nervous but as it turns out we will get the annual raise.

For the past 4 years I have gotten a week's salary as a bonus. I highly doubt we will gwt anything this year. If it's going to come, it will probably be this week, so we'll see!!

I have worked at 3 internet companies and 1 non profit, and I never ever got a bonus. So, nothing's changing for me. I am going to ask for a promotion in January, but I doubt I will get it - but I have to ask because I've been in this position for 1.5 years and I feel I deserve it.

Coleen, I had to work today too I wasn't behind a desk but I still had to work - we had a web video shoot.

We don't get X-mas bonuses. We have to pay to go to our own X-mas party. We don't get so much as a card from our HQ

Re: Christmas bonus

both if us never had received one at our jobs but if we did I am pretty sure we wouldn't get one this year. A few of my friends have been told that they are not giving them out early enough so that people realized not to count on it and spend it.

DH gives out bonuses every year
We have more employees this year than last and everyone got more than the previous year.
Even people who started a few months ago got a bonus.

they are not giving us bonuses. I can live without it, it wasn't too much anyway.

Re: Christmas bonus

well I answered no since I just got laid off last week.....although they did tell me that part of my severance included my '08 bonus I worked in the financial industry, and typically my bonus was about 10% of my annual salary.

Re: Christmas bonus

last year i got 10% of my salary as my bonus. this year we got 70% of what we got last year, and that was company wide. upper management only got 20% of what they got last year, which i think is fair since they make the big $$. i'm really surprised we got as much as we did, but i'm not complaining one little bit. i was expecting nothing, but hoping for a little something. however, no one got raises for next year. i can live with that. i'm just glad i still have a job.
