Craft Corner: Has anyone done an engagement to wedding scrapbook?
Original post by Sonicstef
I have a lot of 'stuff' that I would like to put together in a scrapbook - things like photos of the day we got engaged, photos of my shower, fabric scraps, the note from the president, our photo in the times, stuff like that... so Im wondering if anyone has ever done anything like that before.
and mimicking real scrapbook layouts in Photoshop on my PC with words and photos and spaces to glue fabric and cards to using this ink jet refill paper: Inkjet Refills
So far I can do pages about: - Day we got engaged - Bridal Shower - Bridesmaid Luncheon - Finding 'the' dress - Wedding Day
So I need some suggestions help on the following:
a) What else can I include? I'd like to make the book sort of like a journey from engagement to honeymoon but Im not sure what else I can put in there.
b) I need some elegant layouts I can use as inspiration, so please post if you have done one or have seen one.

Stef, what did you do to your hair? Is it much different than when we saw you at the GTG? Post a pic!

Stef, your hair at the GTG was pretty similar to the wedding, just shorter, no?
And it was all up for the wedding, so nobody would know the real lenghth, I say go for it...

Same as the GTG but pretty different from wedding hair. Its about 6-8 inches shorter, a different color (much more brown than blond) and I have bangs!!
Even though it wouldnt be a glaring difference - it would really stand out to me and Luke - and since thats really the only people who are going to look at this thing... seems sort of weird.

My bridesmaid gave me a scapbook as part of her shower gift - it's cute, it has a bride and groom on the front. But when I have time to create mine, it will literally be a scrapbook, and not much of computer graphics. Mainly receipts and stubs, my STD magnet, RD invite, print outs of digital pics from friends, and memories from Hawaii. I'll have to research a few mags before I start now!
That's still a few projects away though - I first have to put all of my wedding proofs and amateur photos in an album before they're ruined!
Question though - my scrapbook is made of thick paper - how should I attach all of these pictures and things? Hot glue, or something else?

no hot glue...always used acid free archival glue...you can buy it in Michaels in the scrapbooking isle! there are many different types but as long as it is acid free you will be ok then!

Can I join in on this? I have a bunch of engagement cards and notes that I wanted to organize, but I've never scrapbooked before. Is Michael's the best place to get supplies??

In the Stony Brook Lowe's shopping center there is a new scrapbook store. I haven't been inside yet though.
And everyone is welcome to join our craft corner.
