Re: crock pot recipes
DH loves when i make this:Whole chicken (I usually buy the already seasoned ones from Waldbaums or Pathmark)
Red potatoes
Carrots
This is the easiest meal to make...
cut up the red potatoes & carrots (or u can use baby carrots too)
Throw em in the crock pot with the whole chicken, cook on low for 8 hours...
No water, or broth needed...the chicken ends up cooking in its own juices..
When it's done the meat literally falls off the bone

Re: crock pot recipes
I just made up my own chili recipe for the crock pot the other night and DH and BILs said it was the best chili they ever had!!I doubled this to fill the WHOLE crock pot but for just you 2 and leftovers it shoudl suffice.
1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
1can corn, drained
1 6 oz can tomato paste
green pepper, diced, to taste (about 1/2 cup)
onion, diced, to taste (about 1/2 cup)
1 can light red kidney beans, undrained
1/2-1 can pinto beans, undrained (when I doubled this i only used 3 cans beans total, so depending if you REALLY like beans or not)
1 packet McCormick chili seasoning
garlic, minced
Cook beef, drain. Saute onion and pepper. Throw everything in pot and cook on low 5-7 hours or high 2-4 hours. Serve topped with shredded sharp cheddar and italian bread or tortilla chips, yummy.
