Crying At The Wedding

Original post by Future Mulligan

now that everyone is married i want to know who cried and who's DH cried?

i got teary eyed a few times but the tears never fell - i had to really hold them in - i was so afraid of ruining my make up....i teared up the first time i saw DH, i teared up walking down the aisle, i teared up during DH's vows to me and during my vows to him (in a lot of the pics, and in our ceremony re-cap video i am making a monkey face b/c my lips are quivering )

my DH was teary eyed A LOT - he was tearing up as i walked down the aisle and i don't know how he made it through his vows b/c he was sniffling, crying, the works he had everyone in tears, even the officiant had tears! its was cute b/c half way through he had to take a break and he said 'WOW!' like making fun of himself kind of - and everyone was laughing - it was really cute....

i didn't think we would be as emotional as we were - i thought id get the nervous giggles and laugh or smile a lot - and i thought DH might tear up but i never expected him to be as emotional as he was - that boy must really love me ....

I didnt cry at all lol. BUT i did cry non-stop the week before so i really think i was just all cried out hahahha. Even 2 days before the wedding i had cried for 2 hours and for no reason, the day before while i was driving for hours all around the city i kept crying non-stop lol and couldnt stop. The day of i was just smiles all day from ear to ear, like when i saw dh i smiled and the whole time i was on the altar i had this real excited feeling and kept smiling at him.

DH teared when i walked down the aisle, he was biting his lip so he wouldn't cry too much, i did think to myself W** just let it out the pics are funny bc you see him trying to hold it in

You crack me up, Denise...w**, just let it out! The best was the picture when you are laughing at Helen crying.

that is one of my favorite pics. But i was laughing not only bc she was crying at that moment but i found out she was the loud crier during the ceremony hahaha. Since i had my back to those on my side during ceremony i couldnt see, but i kept hearing someone crying so loud, and i even said to dh 'who is that?' i found out it was Helen and my cousin lol. But yeah i have a bad habit of laughing when others cry or when it should be a moment to cry i laugh

That's right, she was crying during the ceremony too. I heard a lot of sniffling and I didn't want to turn to look...I'm pretty sure it was my mother. Although two of my friends that were sitting together later told me they were in tears, especially when I cracked. Her husband, was like oh man, I don't even have a tissue.

I got emotional like OMG this is!!!! But I didnt cry. DH didnt cry either. He teared up when his BM made his speech. Our BM is his cousin and they have known each other since they were babies. I still bother him about tearing for him and not for me

i also got very emotional at the hotel when my flowers arrived - all morning i was cool, it didn't feel real at all - when M-i-a had just started my make up the flowers were delivered, they brought the box of boks over to me and i started getting really teary eyed - it was at that moment that i was like 'o fcuk' this is going to be baaaaad - if i am getting teary over flowers (and i am NOT a flowers person at all) then i am going to be a wreck later

its kind of silly, out of all things it was the flowers that really made me feel like WOW i am getting married today - i mean enough to make my heart pound in my ears, like i got nervous, excited, teary, all that b/c of my boks

then when ag got there i started getting pumped hahahahaha

it wasn't until i saw DH for the first time that i got emotional again.....then again for the ceremony....

Haha Denise remember when I posted that I went to the RH the week before and I just cried all day. You said that would be it on the crying. I can't believe how much I cried in that week and that I still had tears left for the ceremony.

lol yeah now looking back that whole time was just such an emotional roller coaster.

I was very emotional but differently i guess. From the moment i woke up, i was jumping up and down that im getting married. Even during our vows i had this huge kool aid smile, it was this omg this is it. I kept looking at him so happy and when he said his vows i had this sentimental smile if that makes sense.

But i usually dont cry during happy moments, i only cry during sad times lol, thats why it was weird that i cried the week before but the emotions of it all hit me. Oh and i also just about never cry in front of ppl, some ppl think i never cry bc they never see me crying. Dh even gets surprised when i cry lol

I totally lost it during my vows! I didn't think I would but the emotion just snuck up on me, it was very intense. DH got teary eyed watching me walk down the aisle and during the vows but he never actually cried.

Also I have never cried at weddings but since mine I'm a blubbering mess at them. I guess it takes me back.

we both cried like babies. in the pics you see me walking down the aisle crying, and you see DH all choked up as my dad hands me over to him. during the ceremony we were crying, and so were all of our guests.

but the most emotional part of the day was our reveal. we both cried a lot, DH was actually physically shaking. it was such an unforgettable moment.

awww! that is cute that your DH was shaking!

i wish i had uploaded my pro pics - there are are awesome pics of when DH sees me for the first time, he has his shoulders up to his ears and his hands are in fists and he has this huge smile - its adoreable....

ugh, all these moments make me want to do it all over again

I didn't cry at all, just got a little choked up during my vows. DH is not a crier so I didn't expect him to. I think we were just so caught up in everything, and the day was built up so much that once it came, it was like... ok... I'm good!

'o fcuk'... You know for some reason, I think that is when it really hit me...the day before when I saw my bouquet.

The most I cried all day was the last dance of the night. My father and my uncle (both deceased) were both big Sinatra fans. Throughout the wedding planning I kept hearing Sinatra songs like when we met with the DJ and the officiant, right before an appointment at Kleinfeld). I know some people don't really believe that but it meant something to me...I just felt like he was there with me. When we first met with the DJ I even asked him to NOT play any Sinatra because I was afraid I would fall apart, but at the end I decided to ask them to play a couple of songs, one being their favorite, 'My Way' as the last song. Funny thing is I only put a couple of songs on the list and throughout the night I kept hearing more. Well, as soon as the song came on and my DH took my hand to dance, that was it...and then I started everyone crying. Sorry to go on so long.

awwww, i believe it that stuff too - it couldnt just be a coincidence that you heard those songs everytime you were doing something wedding related - it must have been them letting you know they were there watching i 100% believe in that kind of thing....that is really sweet! i love stories like that!

That's how I felt...it was too coincidental. When I was on my way to Kleinfeld to meet my mom and sister and I told her, and she was like 'Yeah, and...' But, when I told my cousin, she feels the same way I do, she was like 'get out...see.' I was sitting in Starbucks having a cup of coffee because I got to the city early for my appointment a song came on. I'm in there EVERY day and I've never heard them play him. It always give me goosebumps. I know there were other times too, but those are the times that really stood out.

I cried at the hotel when the flowers arrived.
I cried when I was getting ready and my uncle called me to check in and say good luck.
We BOTH cried during the vows.. but he was a mess before I came down the aisle and during.. I think some of you girls saw it on our wedding trailer!!
I cried a lot when I did my spotlight dance with my uncle (same one who called that morning).

i thought i was going to endlessly cry but i made it through the day without shedding a tear.

i did get teary-eyed through parts of the wedding but i held back. i thought the mass would be the worst but we both made it! dh cried while dancing with his mom...they were talking about his dad who is no longer here so it was emotional.

Re: Crying At The Wedding

Its weird but the day of my rehearsal when i was out earlier that day running around with last minute errands, our wedding song came on, then the next day when i was picking up my dress, veil and shoes, i heard our wedding song again, i kept hearing it ALOT right before the wedding. I kept thinking OMG this is strange. I do hear it from time to time on the radio but it was too weird to hear it so much right before.

I just remember being so excited the night before and the whole morning. I barely even slept because I had to be up at 4:30 and I was just too damn excited. So many emotions you go through. The only time I teared up before I saw DH was when the flowers got delivered to the hotel. I think the moment we saw the bouquets was when I realized that I was actually getting married. I had so much fun with my girls the night before and the morning of at the hotel. I'm so glad they were able to stay with me.

It's funny because one of my very best friends is getting married this Sunday and we went out for my birthday on Saturday. I asked her if she's had the big cry yet and she said no. So we'll see what happens-maybe I'm just a big baby.
