Do you and your DH
Combine paychecks and keep everything together in one account?

Re: Do you and your DH
For the most part, yes. However, he has a separate checking account because it is linked to our mortgage payments (it's a different bank than our joint account). I have a separate account too but really only because my debit card for our joint account doesn't more. It's more out of convenience/laziness to change than anything else.

Re: Do you and your DH
When I was working (we just moved), we lived on DH's paycheck and put mine in a savings account. I made a lot more and we lived in a really inexpensive part of the country (like $450/month for rent in a nice house inexpensive), so it worked for us.

Nope, separate checking accounts. Joint savings account. From the checking accounts, we each have certain household things/utilities that we pay individually.

Re: Do you and your DH
We will be yes. Him and I still have tons of checks from our person accounts but we're putting our entire paycheck into our joint checking then transfering it into our personal for any individual bills we pay (car, insurance, phone bills etc)

Re: Do you and your DH
Nope. We keep our checking accounts separate. The reason is I know my paycheck is way smaller than DH's. If we combined them I would be taking more from his money than I should. You know to do a bit more shopping, etc etc.
So it is best for now to keep them separate.
In the future, when we have a mortgage to pay, then we will most likely get a combined account, but for now it is best this way.

We have a joint account where we pay almost all our bills and separate accounts for small, personal expenses.

Re: Do you and your DH
yup. we also each have an old individual checking account too that we keep just for the sake of having it, but we put our paychecks and wedding gift money into a joint checking that we pay all our bills from. we totally joined everything (even though we do keep separate accounts but they arent used much). we also have a joint savings.personally it works for me because my parents were terrible with money and i inherited that, and DH is awesome with money so this way I feel comfortable knowing all our bills etc. are taken care of and he won't let me spend more than i have (tht at may sound old fashioned but its a reality for me, i'm just really bad with money).

Re: Do you and your DH
We do both. We divy our paychecks in our joint and personal accounts, I pay for my personal expenses (shopping, etc.) out of my own account and we use the joint account for all our living expenses.

Re: Do you and your DH
NO WAY!We have our own checking accounts where our paychecks come to...and then a joint one for our joint living expenses....unless we only used one person's paycheck I don't see a reason why it should be combined IMO...

Re: Do you and your DH
Seperate. However, only out of laziness. The goal is to one day go to the bank and create joined savings and checking. But I don't see this occurring anytime soon.Welcome New Vendors
