When we lived in NY...this happened more often...so I always had chips and stuff around...and I came to realize...his friends don't really care what I or the house looked like...

I am beginning to realize this as well

I like advance notice, Roger will call first to check that I am dressed properly but he will not bring anyone over for an extended period before checking with me, b/c he would like to have me have something ready to serve the guest

I like to have people over but I would need advance notice. I never have food in the house and I'm not the neatest person there is. I admit that only to you all, my LIW friends. I would need more time to get ready. Unless they want to drink water and move the piles of laundry out of their way to walk around. But shhh, don't tell anyone.

same here!!!

Re: Does he have to let you know in advance???

I want to know in advance, but it doesn't have to be DAYS in advance. A few hours would be enough time for me to prepare for the visit (straighten up, get dressed or whatever).

Sometimes you just aren't feeling well and would rather not have company in the house. So I definitely want to be consulted before my DH brings friends over.
