Excuse me, pardon me, sorry to intrude....
...on your newlyweddedness...
But I have a question that can only be answered by brides who've been there, done that. How long did you take to do all your pics after the ceremony? I'm especially interested to hear replies from those who had large bridal parties and large families...
My ceremony begins @ 2:30pm (full mass which means it should be over by 3:30) and my cocktail hour begins @ 6:30pm. We want to be there for at least half of the cocktail PLUS stop for pictures somewhere besides the church grounds and the reception site. Do we have enough time? Will our photo session be very rushed? TIA!!

It shouldn't take more than 2 hours to take pics. It looks like you should be ok. Are you taking pics close to your reception or church?

Re: Excuse me, pardon me, sorry to intrude....
We are trying to find a place along the route that is less than 15 min 'off-course'. I really wanted planting fields but that's out b/c it's 45 mins away from the church and another 45mins away from the reception.

It took us 30 minutes. Our BP and families were at the second half of our cocktail hour, and we spent the next 30 minutes taking portraits. We had to duck out once during dinner to finish, and that it!If you have an organized photographer, and a list, and a svengali BP member that can keep people in line, you'll be fine!

Re: Excuse me, pardon me, sorry to intrude....
We were able to do and we did a recieving line after the mass.We didn't attend our cocktail hour because we had a private cocktail hour for the BP members. My mom was old school and she was much happier for us if we attended when we were announced at the reception. So, instead we got our own spread of food and two bartenders and had a grand old time.
We took our pictures at the SUNY F'dale Rose Garden. If your church is close to recommend it!

If you get most of the BM photos and Bridal family photos out of the way before the ceremony you will have plenty of time. Also, if you want a ton of BP photos then that could eat up your time. You need to make sure that your BP is where they need to be, when they need to be there and keep them in one location. That will help.

Re: Excuse me, pardon me, sorry to intrude....
Dammit! I just wrote you a long FM and it didn't go through and when I tried to get back to it, it was gone! I hate that! So, instead I will write it here.
Back in Sept 02 it cost us 75 bucks for 2 hours in the Gardens. It normally goes for 100 bucks (this was back in Fall 02) but if you have ever taken a call at Farmingdale they consider you an Alumni and I took a summer class their once so I got the better rate!
The 100 dollars give you two hours and it is just your bridal party and they will have the gate open just for you. I would just call the College's general info number and they will tell you who to speak with. They will then send you an invoice and you can mail or bring them a check. Also another great thing is if it does rain you get a full refund!
We took many amazing pictures there! These are onlya few I have scanned and set to shutterfly since I can never attach them any other way
Here are some pictures from my Album that were taken there

Re: Excuse me, pardon me, sorry to intrude....
We took the family pictures at the church, then went to take pictures, and still made it to the reception hall in time for the cocktail hour. This all took place between 4-6 so two hours is definitley enough time. Talk to your photographer and ask him if thats enough time.

Re: Excuse me, pardon me, sorry to intrude....
My church was 2pm, out by 3ish. We went to the place to take pictures and we were they by 3:30. We were there for a little over an hour. At the hall by 5 and took family picutres. We were all done by 6pm which is when my coctail hour started. My photograher wanted everything done by the time the cocktail hour started so we could enjoy it. I had plenty of time and was not rushed.ps....I had a large bridal party 9girls, 9 guys, a jr usher, a ring bearer and a flower girl.
