On your wedding day...what was the BEST thing that happened that you WOULDN'T change...
examples: a friend who totally surprised you, a vendor who went over the top, your favorite 'thing' that came out exactly how you wanted....
We gotta stay positive!!!

I really have nothing at all to complain about. when someone posted 'list the top 3 things that you would do over', beyond not getting a video, I had a really hard time coming up with anything else.
it was 68 degrees and sunny on my wedding day. the Fall leaves were peaking - the weather was UNREAL!!!!!!!!!!
But beyond the weather... everything, I mean EVERYTHING was perfection! I honestly never dreamed that everything would go so perfectly. loved my hair, makeup, dress.... perfect! everyone else looked amazing! our photographer took my breath away with our GORGEOUS pictures! our florist was awesome!
Many of our guests were totally 'wow'd' and said it was the best wedding they ever attended.
it really was the most amazing day of our lives!!

1. Having people tell me that my husband looked so happy and could not take his eyes off me the entire day. 2. The amazing speech the best man made. 3. That my very hard to please father was overwhelmed with how good a job The East Wind did. 4. The amazing feeling I felt throughout the entire day that I had finally, after over 9 years, had married my soul mate.

Some of these events/occurences/vendors had very deep meaning to me and some were certainly not as important but I am glad we utilized them:
1) I was very pleased that we decided to get married in a temple and incorporate a few more Jewish traditions than are typically done ( a bedeken [veiling ceremony] and walking around DH seven times)
2) I had my mother's bible(that she carried on her wedding day 50 years ago) and my father's picture tied to my bouquet 3) Hand calligraphy on the place cards and invites 4) THE SUSHI BAR (worth every extra penny) 5) High centerpieces: 6) My purple cake! 7) Having a dress that covered my tattoo so that all of the judgemental 'holier than thou' people didnt give me a hard time about being a Jew with a tattoo:

There's so many things I would not have changed...
1. All of my vendors. We were thrilled with all of them the day of. But some a lot more than others!!
2. The hall threw in the chair covers the day of. I wanted them so badly but couldn't justify the extra expense. I was so happy when our BM came up and told me he threw them in.
3. My flowers...I don't care what a few people on the 07 boards say, Laurie from LA Blossom did an amazing job. Everyone commented on how gorgeous the flowers and the aisle runner were.
4. That we had a gorgeous sunny 65 degree day.
5. That our picture location was FREE and did not require a permit.
6. That amazingly everyone and everything was on time (especially the bridal party)
7. Booking Jenn & Oksana was probably one of the best decisions I made. They kept me from killing a few people that morning.
8. That my friend Darlene was with me. She did more than anyone else.
9. That some of our guests were actually moved to tears by our ceremony.
10. That my mother was there to see me get married. There were days I wasn't sure she would make it.
11. All of the DIY projects....people did notice all of the hard work and special touches.
Re: Girls, I'm sorry but I think we need THIS post...Looking back...
There are so many things, it's hard to choose......
1. Going on LIWeddings........I never heard of 'slipper baskets' or doing a memorial table, 'We Do' letters, STDs, having chair covers, etc. So many little details, but it was totally worth it, people DID notice and commented on my weddding being the best they have ever been to. That is the best compliment I could have gotten.
2. Every single one of my vendors were outstanding. A few of them aren't as popular (Simply Stems, Dan Krieger, Paragon Designs, etc.) but we went with our gut instinct on who would be the most creative and do the best work and we were right. My flowers took my breath away and the photographs were flawless.

This is truly a great idea!
2 things....1) the weather! The weather on the day of our wedding could not have been better. and 2) a friend that I grew up with wasn't sure if he and his wife would make the wedding because their 1st child was due to arrive a few days before the wedding - well, the baby decided to cook a bit longer and they made it!

There are a few things:
1) That everyone loved our ceremony- and thought it was beaufitul, one of the best interfaith ceremonies they'd been to
2) Our band singer sang our song so beautifully, people thought she recorded it.
3) People noticed the ribbon and flowers I spent hours tying arounf the napkins.
4) Incorporating DH's love of baseball in a nonobtrusive way.
I agree with leese - we did need this post. I kept saying to DH how sad it is that we all so easily criticize ourselves and things that happened, we're very hard on ourselves. This is great to know some really great things went well and we can be proud of them! Thanks leese.

I was contemplating taking pictures prior to the ceremony, but I am so thankful that my hubby didnt see me until I was walking down the aisle, the look on his face was priceless!
Also, I wouldn't have changed the fact that we both slept at home in the same bed the night before. I wanted him to sleep somewhere else, but it was so comforting waking up to him the morning of the wedding, it eased my mind alot. And it was really cute how he woke up jumped on me and screamed 'we're getting married today!'

Great post. You gotta stay positive! We had some 'miracles' on our wedding day too . . .
The best part was that friends and family members made the effort to spend the day with us. DH's whole family travelled cross country and my MOH flew in from the Middle East!
Also the weather -- despite rains that flooded the area the week before and the entire week after the wedding, our day was not a wash out. We were even able to take pictures in the park -- our photographer was so smart (Don from Silverfox) that he found ways to avoid the swampy areas.
We're actually standing on a wooden walkway in this shot, but when I look at it all I see is the gorgeous park I wanted for my wedding pictures.
And lastly, (to echo you all), the fact that I was marrying the man of my dreams made everything else okay!

I too, got a really good night's sleep the night before, so I woke up feeling nice and fresh.
My bridesmaids...were AMAZING. Those girls never once squabbled, were amazingly generous with their time and effort and I love them all for their all differences (each one has a TOTALLY different personality).
My parents....were amazing. My DH likes to say I'm either totally fine or a blubbering mess. As my dad and I walked into the church, so I wouldn't be scared or start blubbering he whispered to me 'Are they all here for you, or to see me?' That made me laugh.
Our entrance...although it wasn't 100% what we planned (to ride in together on the bicycle) we literally came up with this alternative DURING THE COCKTAIL hour. We thought we had to scrap the idea totally, but it worked out and it made me laugh, and all the guests loved it!
Our first dance. We never once danced to our song exactly the same way, and we never will again, even though we still know all the moves. Being in DH's arms when we danced was PERFECTION!
Our band. They played the perfect mix of songs for us and our friends and our family. One of my friends broke out his old breakdance moves and one of my closest friends still says 'I'm upset I have to have a DJ at my reception, because your band just kicked ____(bad word for 'hiney').' A different guest (this took place at his own wedding) came up to me while I was dancing and said ' this was the first song your band played and it got everyone up and dancing.' Who remembers that, except a person immensly impressed?
So many other things, too numerous to write out.

Good post!
Our wedding was truly the most amazing day of our lives. It's hard to pick what the best aspects of our wedding were.....it was just so wonderful overall!
I'd have to start with the weather.....and because the weather was so beautiful - it made the location even better!
Cocktail hour sunset!!
I'm thrilled that we did pictures first - because it really diminished any nervous energy that either of us had.
Loved most of my vendors - they went above and beyond.
I'm glad we made the decision to make Hawaii our HM destination - and kept a 'no-holds-barred' attitutde the whole time! We ate and drank like royalty and truly savored the entire trip. In booking our trip back in January, I consciously tried to save every penny with the hotels we stayed at, so we could be more free-spending while we were there.....great decision on our part!
Lastly - my motto all throughout my two years planning was that the day was about more than just DH and I.....it was about the friends and family that mean so much to us. That said, we did a bunch of things to really communicate how much their love and support means to us....between DH making a toast to me and to our friends, to a video of prictures we showed at the reception (that had everyone crying.....I got almost all 150 guests in the video somewhere!), to our BBQ the day-after where we hosted another 60 guests at our home and played a heated game of wiffle ball. Everyone has commented that it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding. More importantly, my family from out-of-town (who don't know us as well as some others) kept commenting that they could actually see the love that DH and I share, and how much we enjoy our life together....and what our family and friends mean to us.

My wedding was great!
1. The weather - bright and sunny, a little too hot, but I couldn't ask for a more perfect day.
2. My parents went above and beyond!
3. My bridal party went above and beyond!
4. My makeup and hair stayed perfect the whole day
5. My flowers lasted the whole day without wilting in July heat.
Vendors that were great:
1. Flowers by Matthew - the owner delivered all the flowers by himself, it was a holiday and he gave his staff the day off and he did everything on his own. Would NOT accept a tip either!
2. All Star Limos - called twice the week of my wedding to confirm everything. Were on time, drivers were great. They were one of my favorite vendors.
3. Woodbury Country Club - exceptional! We arrived really early and they were ready for us and accommodated us from the moment we arrived. Allowed us to take pictures everywhere, had cold beverages on hand at all times! Staff was great. From start to finish they were a class act.

These moments were so very special to me for many reasons. I wouldn't give them up for all the money in the world.
1st one: Mom and Daughter dance 2nd one- mom giving me away at the church

Honestly, I wouldnt change a thing - everything was great. . . .
but my favorite moment of the whole day was during the reception when my dad made a toast to me and dh and mentioned my grandpa - who died a few months before. My grandpa was a real song and dance man and would always make his 8 kids sing 'The Wild Colonial Boy' - an Irish revolutionary song. Over the years he'd make them sing it at family reunions -but it had been years since they'd sung it together.
My dad asked his 7 siblings to come up to the dance floor and they all sang it for us in memory of my grandpa. Everyone was clapping and singing along - it was so wonderful - I smile from ear to ear just thinking about it.
I just remember dancing a lot, kissing dh a lot and hugging everyone and having a total blast.

1 - Having DH's Aunts from Scotland & New Zealand and a Cousin from London here to Celebrate with Us.
2 - Having my DH sing 'Amazed' to me during our Reception.
3 - Having my Dad there well enough to walk me up the aisle and dance with me. (He was in the hospital very sick the month before my wedding)
