Girls night???

Girls night???

Are you less inclined to go out with the girls now that your married. The girls are having a 'girls night' but I have no motivation to go...Do you feel this way at times? I don't know why but I'd rather be at home with the hubby!

aww. Yeah, things change when you get married, I think. At least for me it did. My DH became my bestfriend (sooo much more than just a husband) so I don't feel a 'need' for others.

HOWEVER - right now i'm living far from home where it really just IS me & DH. So right now i'm kind of feeling like i'd give anything for a girls night. I just miss my sisters and friends back home a LOT.

I haven't gone out in a long time, and im feeling bad and guilty about that. I need to make plans for sometime soon. I think its good to also go out and see others, i think its good for the relationship. I mean sometimes not being in the mood is understandable, but its good to still squeeze in time. I feel horrible that i haven't

I try to hang w/ DH when he is home b/c we dont have much time together. But when my friends are in town or I made plans ahead of time and he happens to be off, I go out anyway. Especially if I hadn't been out in awhile.

I try to hang out with my friends as much as possible. I enjoy staying home with DH doing nothing and still feel like i'm having the best time of my life.

Now when you girls say you hang out with your friends, do you mean 'girls only'??? I still see my friends a lot (which really isn't the case). I just hardly go out without dh

I'm a big fan of girls nights and I still do them as often as I can. I sometimes feel guilty leaving DH when i go out on top of the nights i have class, but I KNOW he doesn't mind (which I'm not sure how I feel about lol). But I love hanging out with my friends and I know eventually they will get married etc. and we'll grow up (like I have from my other married friends) so I'm taking all I can get now!

he does sometimes comes, but usually when it's couples

I miss my single friends but they all have their own lives as well. I don't even think they do the girls nite too often unless it's a milestone occassion. I will meet up with one who lives near me and we'll go to astoria or a cafe somewhere & it's fun, 'like old times' as we say.

i responded on the thread on LIF.. but i'll respond here too

i think girl nights are VERY important.... while i feel that i can spend every night at home with DH and feel satisfied, i think going out with just the girls is needed and i itch for it sometimes - esp when you have a group of close girlfriends... you want to keep that bond/friendship strong! of course we all love our DHs and feel he is our best friend... but there is nothing like having a best girlfriend either! i love spending time with my friends with just me.... of course DH comes out with us and them and their BF/DH/FHs... but sometimes DH doesnt want to even come out bc he knows we are going to talk about girlie things lol

and if DH gets 'mad' that you go out without him, then thats a little selfish of him IMO.... EVERYONE needs time away from their significant other.... whether that be alone time or with girlfriends

as much as i love DH, i would never be one of those friends who brings him EVERYWHERE..... i always ask ahead of time if its a girls night or couples night or what.... i have some friends that WONT EVER leave their SO home and it does get annoying when its all girls, and then one girl who brought their man

sorry this post may sound harsh, but this is something i feel strongly about.. it makes me sad when i hear that some girls dont feel like they 'need' a girls night anymore.... bc like i said, no matter how much i love DH and love spending every waking moment with him, i NEED my girls and my girls nights

I love getting together with my girls and we don't do it too often. When I'm out with friends from work I'm always thinking about him and how long until I'll be home (because we work and go out in Queens). Usually I love to go out with the girls because I don't see them very often anymore so we always have to catch up. He always makes plenty of time for his friends so I don't feel bad about doing my thing.

I still like my girls night but in a different way, with my friends we use to go to a club or a bar and go dancing until 5am. they still like to do this, but i would rather go to a nice dinner and a lounge or a movie or a get together at a house, i like happy hour too! i just am not feeling the party seen!

I totally agree with you. My dh would never get upset if I had just a girls night! hes so easy going and doesn't care. Plus he sometimes does his 'guy nights'. I think its healthy too...and have been trying to put in more of an effort to see my friends ( I actually hung out with them this past saturday) but the problem I have is they are club-go'ers and unfortunately half of the time thats all they do..I grew out of this years ago..so its hard to keep in touch when this happens.

I love girls night and am a big fan of it and think its healthy. However I do feel bad when DH doesn't have plans and I do :( but he still makes me go and I am happy once I do!

But either way I think its important, even if u can only make it for a few hours. Also I personally can't stand that a few of my married or engaged friends have fell off the face of the earth. Sorry if anyone takes offense to that but there is no need to be with DH or FH or BF all the time! Friends are important!!!!

Re: Girls night???

Lately, I wish I had girls to go out with. OR anyone to go out with. My only close friend in NY has social anxiety, and he hardly ever wants to go anywhere. I love Dh but sometimes I need to get away. But I find that a lot of girls that I know, don't have the same sense of humor as me or the same views as I do, so I wind up passing up going out. I don't have any close girlfriends here in NY. Lately I have been wishing that maybe my friend who lives in TN right now, would come and visit or come move here lol We used to hang out every single day when I lived in MI. I miss her and I miss having someone around like that 24/7 ya know.

totally agree with this- because I dont see my girls often- I'd rather sit and chat with them or go to a bar and get a drink- not really up for the party scene much either

Re: Girls night???

I don't see my friends as much as I use to but that has really been since I got engaged. Some of my friends are married so they understand. DH doesn't see his buddies as much as he use to either. DH works late and the only time we have it weekends. We want to spend the weekends together which leaves little time for friends.

I think I'd rather stay home because I'm lazy! But most of my GF's are single, and they have a different mindset than I do when it comes to going out. They like to go out and whoop it up at clubs and such. I'm more of a dinner party girl, or go out to a restaurant and catch up over dinner and drinks.
