Got my digital album layout! NEED OPINIONS!

I wanted to share a link of my first round digital album layout. Overall I am very happy! There are a couple of things I'm not sure about and would love opinions on all or any part that you love, hate, don't think fit. Be honest. I won't get offended!

A couple of things that struck me:
1. I think the picture of my dad walking me down the aisle on Page 8 needs a little more album space rather than mixed in with the others.

2. The green background on two of the pages..not really liking it.

Anyway, please let me know your brutally honest opinions.

Do you know if your album has some sort of tape binding in the middle of the book that seperates the pages :

like this?

or do the pages not have anything breaking them up?

If not, maybe add a page or two of panoramic layouts instead of having each right and left side so seperate.

I love the last photo you have in the book but I dont think it makes sense next to the large black and white invitation on the facing page. That would work better at the beggining I think.

I cant link to the pages Im referring to but you have several layouts that use a very traditional grouping of photos (4 on a page, 5 on a page, 3 on a page...all the same size, etc). Since you are not limited by traditional mattes, I would rearrange some of those. Make some have a bunch of photos, some have only a few. Maybe bleed some photos and lose the white border.

Im not crazy about the green or the red. It sort of comes out of nowhere. If you want to add color, I would suggest using it consistently thru the book. Not every page but if you have a red accents, it should be in more than one layout. Otherwise stick to a white or black to make the photos pop against them. Also, the red page as a red to black gradient that is distracting from teh photos in my opinion.

Edited to add: This is just a personal preference but I see you only have one layout that focuses on your ceremony and all the photos are smaller - while there are several pages that have posed photos and getting ready and reception, etc.. Since the ceremony is the main event, I'd like to see more focus on that.

Thanks so much! I totally agree about the invitation at the end. Very random and out of order. Same thoughts on the red and green background. The green I definately cannot stand, and the red I'm torn. I like how it picks up the girls dresses and my bouquet, but it is still kind of random.

And I think there is a black binding down the center like the pic you posted.

I like your suggestion of mixing up the layouts with some different, maybe softer borders since the opportunity is there.

I definately want to put more emphasis on my dad escorting me down the aisle and our exchange of rings. I feel they are too blocked together.

You have some beautiful pictures.

I'm not so crazy about the green...I like the red but maybe in splashes and not with the red to black gradient.

I lovelovelove the last picture and think that's a great way to end the album...but I feel the invitation should go in the beginning of the book - I don't think it works well with the last pic.

Would love to see some pics askew instead of such a traditional layout - for such a non-traditional album!

Agree with everything SonicStef said, especially about the red and green, I don't like it at all. The one thing I'll add is, the first page is your bouquet, with your hands. You're wearing your rings, so you're already married, then it goes back to pre ceremony pictures. I'd switch this picture with the picture on the second to last page, putting the invitation first, and the hands with the bouquet second to last.
Also, I don't like page 20 and 21, how half the page is tan, half is white. I just don't like it. Another thing I don't like about those pages is the fact that the pictures are different sizes. I would make the pictures on page 21 bigger to make it more uniform.
I might also make the picture on the last page a panoramic spread over two pages.

Another option is to take one photo and put it over 75% of the two pages like this. Even with the black line, I think its very effective in adding variety as well as visually moving the reader to the next page:



Personally, I think if you include the traditional invite photo in such a large format, it needs to go in the beggining unless you have a very distinctive layout.

The bouquet photo is a pretty traditional photo to put in the front so if you want to avoid that, how about picking something totally different?

I'm so not good at this! Any suggestions for what a better 1st photo could be? We have this one as what we be on the cover, but maybe that would go better as the first page and then put a different one on the cover since it will be pretty small.

I cant see the first photo.

I like photo where you are kissing in the background of the glasses so I definitely think you should put that in big somewhere. But Im sort of a stickler about chronilogical order so if you are putting one large photo on the first page, I think it should be something that works before the ceremony.

Or what about putting a photo that is out of order but adding your names or the date to it so its clearly the introduction page. Or doing a collage of photos from the day? Or putting an engagement photo in?
