Re: Hawaii Honeymoon must-do's
when you get to kauai buy the 'ultimate kauai guidebook'. it's got a blue cover. it's an awesome book with details on how to get to some of the more remote beaches etc. you might be able to get it off amazon too.eat at hamura's saimin stand (lihue, kauai). it's a local little dive but the food is awesome!!!!
go on a tour at the allerton/botanical garden. it's gorgeous and interesting.
if you enjoy hiking, do the na pali coast hike. trail starts at the end of the road on the north shore.
don't forget to check out waimea canyon. and visit queen's bath, but be careful of the waves there. unsuspecting people have drowned.
that's all i can remember right now. it's so beautiful there that no matter what you do you'll have a great time!

We loved doing Capt'n Andy's Catamaran tour on Kauai. Best to book in advance (ie: before you get there). We were told to do the morning tour (sun not as hot) but you ahve to be there by 6am. But we didn't mind. Five hour trip up the coast. Beautiful. Saw dolphins in the water, they feed you b-fast and lunch and alcoholic drinks in the afternoon and some snorkeling. We booked through Aloha Destinations but you can try booking with your travel agent. On Maui we did the Lahaina Luau. Also book now for that. It's really good and touted as the most authentic on the island. We also booked with Aloha Destinations (800-256-4280) for that. We also saw a show called Ulalena on Maui - it was so good. Modern dance and beautiful music telling the legend/history of Hawaii.
We also did the sunrise tour on Haleakala in Maui. Very cold up there pre-sunrise. We layered - shorts under jeans, sneakers, t-shirts under heavy sweaters and hats. But was amazing - glad we did it.
CherylBooch recommended Aloha Destinations and I was very happy with them!

I agree with teh Road to Hana however we just bought the Maui Revealed book and it was great! We saw things my BIL didnt with the tape! It was amazing!ETA: We also did a sunset cocktail cruise on the Ali Nui'i and it was really nice! They have mai tais, beer and champagne as well as light hor'dorvers and the sunset is amazing! Its alot of fun!
We rented a Jeep it was great on teh Road to Hana, and drive the Road to hana all the way around, no need to turn around, its awesome to see the change in scenery from Rain Forest to desert!

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon must-do's
bring bug spray and make sure if you have a jeep or a convertible that you know how to put the top up before you drive the road to hana.snorkeling at molokini was great and a restaurant MUST is nick's fishmarket in the kea lani - absolutely the best and most romantic place we went to while there.

We ate at Canoe's in Lahina (Maui), the food was awesome!!!I agreee with everyone's suggestions...
I can suggest that you do not do the Fern Grotto boat tour....definetly not worth the money!!!!! Drive around Kauai, there are some amazing waterfalls...the waterfall from the opening credits of Fantasy Island is on Kauai!!

In Maui:We went on a guided road to Hana tour which was more relaxing than driving. And they went all the way around (which you aren't supposed to be able to do with a rental).
And the bike tour down Haleakaka was awesome!
And snorkeling with the Pacific Whale foundation was great and educational.
PS - and Snasei for 'sushi!' yum! lots of non-raw fish to eat too

Re: Hawaii Honeymoon must-do's
On Maui, the sunrise bike tour is cool. As for eating, Nick's Fish Market at the Fairmont Kea Lani is delicious as well as Sorento's on the Beach and Mama's Fish House. On Kuai, the boat ride along the Na pali coast is great. We saw dolphins, sea turtles and went snorkeling. If you like movies, there is a movie tour of the island. To eat, go to Dondero's or Pacific Cafe.
Enjoy!

Oh yeah- bring bug spray and use it! I got completely eaten alive. I don't know where it happened but I had huge red welts from mosquitos. I wish I used the bug spray I brought!Welcome New Vendors
