Here pony, pony, pony.....

Here pony, pony, pony.....

I want to spend as much time with DH as possible before I return back to school in September, so I made a reservation for a little suprise. Last week I booked horseback riding for this past Saturday....DH had no idea; of course I told him we had something to do at 12pm, but I didn't tell him what.

See, I love horses and this was something we had discussed we were going to do on our HM....unfortunatly, the service was no longer available when we got to Bora Bora, Tahiti.

We went to the Babylon Riding Center in West Babylon and had a great time. It was a little hot to be riding, but we made the best of it.

Hehehe

I used to be a competitive rider and I am always trying to get DH to go with me! He never will though

Apparently, when he was a kid, he came to visit his dad and step mother here in NY and they went riding and he fell off the horse!

Re: Here pony, pony, pony.....

I went horseback riding on my HM (St.Lucia) and I fell off my horse.

It was a 4 hour tour. We walked the horses on a trail and then took them onto the beach. We got to take the horses into the water and then they had a BBQ on the beach.

I told the people on the ranch that I was a beginner and they gave me the slowest horse which was fine with me. It was within the first hour of the tour and we were walking on the beach. A jeep was Ilegally riding on the beach and it spooked off the horse. The horse went FLYING down the beach. Being a beginner I didn't know what to do. I lost my balance and fell off the side of the horse. I landed on my butt and tumbled.

I was badly bruised and was in pain for the rest of my HM. I didn't let it ruin my HM. My husband told me I was a trooper and I tried to make the most of it.

I know you are experienced in riding, but just be careful when you go.

OMG....all these horse stories.

Wow, you had a scary experience too!!! 4 hours, holy cow........I barely made it one hour (my butt still hurts). Glad to hear you are alright and you weren't too hurt. I bet it was expensive too!

Even though the service was no more in Tahiti, they still had flyers posted. It cost like $400 per person.

The Babylon Riding Center gave us a 15 minute lesson on how to handle, turn, and stop the horse.....but still - you never know!

We didn't stay the whole 4 hours. The accident happened within the first hour of the tour. After I fell off the horse I did not get back on it. I was in so much pain. The manager from the ranch drove to the beach to get us and took us back to our resort. The ranch did not charge us for the tour.
The next day we went on a helicopter tour of St. Lucia instead. I told my husband that since the horse back riding didn't go so well I wanted to go on the helicopter ride to make up for the pain I was feeling.
