I just got married on June 4 : ) and now I want to change my last name to his - has anyone done it recently? Who do I go to first - DMV? SS? My passport? Who else? What is the order of bureaus to contact? What do I need, just the marriage license? Thank you!

go to the social security office first, you just need to bring proof of ID, drivers lisence or passport, and fill out a form.
I went to the DMV next, but for that you need the COUNTY marriage lisence, they said takes 4-6 weeks to come.
Next is bank records, you have to go to your branch with your marriage lisence.
Credit cards, just call them up and tell them you want your name changed.
Passport I havent done yet, so Im sure.
This is all Ive done so far, any other tips ladies?

do u need the actual social security card to go to DMV? I want to get to SS this week and DMV on Friday....

They asked for mine, I think just to verify my SSN.
