I am very sad....about my wedding pics

I hate the way I look in 90% of my pics (didnt get my official pics back yet) but I really hate how I look. I was looking forward to looking and saying WOW is that me and I hate it...

I have one pic of DH and I that my friend took and I love it - but thats one of about 5 that I even like. I did not lose enough weight in time and I seriously am so disappointed in myself bc I ruined my pics forever. I was about 20 lbs thinner when we got engaged and for whatever reason I just could not lose the weight...

I wonder how I will feel when I get the official pics back...

did anyone feel this way and then see the photographer pics and feel differently?

edited to say - i wish I had worn my veil on top of my head instead of the back - my face is too round for that!! Ugh - can I get new pics taken > LOL

I am sure your pictures are beautiful and that you look beautiful in them!!


I think as time passes you become more objective about the pictures. When we first got our proofs I thought 'eh, they're ok' now I really like them:D

Plus we are our own worst critics.

you are right Christine...I am my own worst enemy - but I just wasn't 'blown away' at my appearance.. to me I looked like a marshmallow in a fancy gown!

I did not like how the table cameras made me look greasy and yucky, when we got the pro pix I was in love. You will be fine.

I agree with Shamma-I didn't like the way I looked in table camera pics but remeber-they are not professional ones like your proofs-I love my proofs.

I'm sure you look great, we are our own harshest critics afterall. Even though I'm not married yet, I can totally relate (well, kinda), not loving how I look on my wedding is a big fear of mine. Everyone who posts pics on here has looked stunning, and I am hoping that I can look half as beautiful as them, but for some reason, I don't believe that I will. I really really want a strapless gown, but with these arms, I really should be wearing some sort of sleeve I'm so reluctant to oder a dress, and time is running out! It's a really hard decision, do I go with a dress that I love, that shows a part of me that I hate, or go with a dress that's ok, but not the style I want? Sorry for the tangent....

I was just talking to my friend about this...she is in this months First for Women magazine for a makeover and she is disappointed with it...but she always hates herself in pics...me too...


professional pics will definitely come out better...and if you REALLY hate them...get dressed up again and take more with a different photog...

There is no comparison btwn an amateurs photos and a pros. Dont even stress about this.

I agree with the rest! Hated my Table camera shots, but the photographers came out great!

First of all- I don't know what you are talking about- i saw your pro- pics and I think you look beautiful in them- and I am sure that your pro pics will be 10xs as fab!

Second of all- you can't walk around being upset about not being thin- I think you look great AND I think that you really just need to love yourself no matter what- as hard as that is I know- but you do... because it's never 'enough' you know?

I hated the way I looked in all the pics taken at my wedding, too. I am not thin by any means and most of the photos seemed to add 100 pounds. However, when we got our rpoofs last night, I loved the way I looked. Although I'll never be Heidi Klum, I was very pleased. I'm sure your prof. pics will be wonderful!

I LOVE my pro pics and I like my amateur pics, they are not bad, just do not wow me the way my proofs did.

Please post them. I am sure you looked fine. I felt the same way with not losing weight (or as much as I should have) but I loved my pics when I saw them and even some, I said hey, I look thin there!

Professional photos and regular photos are VERY different. The lightings, angles etc..
