Do you/would you still talk to them?

I mean not show up like just didnt come. No call no show, no card, NOTHING.

It slipped thier mind
They claim they were sick
etc..reasons like this

Just curious

I think it would depend on who it is. I mean if it's a close friend, then hells yea I'd be hurt and would take me awhile to forgive.

I replied this....Absolutely not. Is it that hard to pick up the phone?

But I guess it depends on who it is.

Did this happen to you?

One of my Dh's cousins didn't shoe up or call (not even after the wedding to explain) but through the grapevine we found out that her husband of less than a year had cheated on her and she just found out the night before her wedding! I completely understand that we weren't her priority and I don't hold a grudge against her. Everyone one else we got a call from at some point!

I answered depends on who it is.. but than again I am torn about them not having the decency to pick up the phone.

Out of Respect I feel as long as it was explained later to me and it was something understandable I would get over it.

IMO -I don't really feel if people don't show to an event that this would 'ruin' my day or the event - it is just one less person that missed out of something important going on.
Their loss.

Depends who it is.

This happened with one of DH's cousins. He and his wife replied that they were coming with their daughter. So we planned on them being there, paid for them, place cards, oot bag, goodie bag for their daughter, the whole nine yards. They didn't show up.

It was a fairly large distraction for DH's side of the family. The cousin later claimed to his aunts that he tried to get in touch with us about their excuse (which changed several times, so you know it was just that...an excuse), but we never got a single vm, email, note, apology, or anything.

At the very least, relations will be chilled with him from here on out.

totally depends on who it is and whether i believed why they didn't show up was valid.

I had a specific family member not show up and I still am pisssed off about it~they know that I am, want to talk to me about it but until I am less angry about the situation I cant talk to them without saying things I dont really want to say~KWIM ?

i had MANY no shows....and only 2 called...i still talk to both..

the others - no. i'm sorry - but every one of the people who didn't show had every possible number to get in touch with me. it has nothing to do with being 'our day' - but a lack of respect.

ONE - was a family of 5 - HI THERE....

my first cousin didnt show up even though I asked him 3 days before the wedding and he told my aunt Yes. He never told anyone why he didnt show and they are so afraid to ask they just let it slip. They wouldnt even give me his address so hes the mystery man. Im hurt by it and the fact he could be so rude.

I answered Absolutely not, but I agree with Jenn- If they truly had a good reason I am sure I would get over it, but to not pick up the phone is pretty rude, and I would never let someone not showing to my wedding ruin my day- they are just missing out on a GREAT time!

Re: If someone didn't show up to your wedding

i had MAJOR drama with one of my friends from HS - basically, she never RSVP'd to my shower...didnt call my mom or ANYTHING & never showed up!!

THEN i had to call her b/c it was the day before our money was due to the hall & she hadnt RSVPd yet!! so she said she was coming & showed up to my ceremony & never came to the reception. still havent gotten a phone call to THIS DAY

needless to say i havent spoken to her since then & dont plan on it - there was a lot of other sketchy things going on with her before all this happened, so this was kinda like the icing on the cake - but it was fuucked up!

Nope. No excuse for that. Don't want to know them anymore.

Re: If someone didn't show up to your wedding

This happend to us. One was my mother's friend. My mom called her to see if she was ok (yeah that's right from the RH mom called her) and she claimed she was sick, though my mom says she sounded terrible. I never received a call or email from her for the 2 weeks I was away from my honeymoon. Then that week I got back to work I received 3 emails from her about various send this to 20 people in 3 minutes emails. Finally I emailed her . Here is the exact email

I was going to wait until Monday but seeing as you’ve been sending me other emails I figured I should send you this now. I am extremely hurt. Not just that you didn’t make it to my wedding (I do understand that you were sick) but that you didn’t call when you knew there was a possibility that you would be unable to make it and in the weeks after I have not received a phone call from you or at the very least an email explanation or apology.

She responded with some snide comment and then called my office asking me if that was the response I was waiting for 'little girl'. I almost reached through the phone and strangled her. That was the last time I spoke to her.

The next other person was my uncle. It took a lot for him to fly up from Florida. He spent the night before at the hotel right near the RH but that day just couldn't make it. He has 'issues' and he just couldn't come. I was pi$$ed at first but the next morning he apologized profusely to me at the hotel and I felt sorry for him. I still speak to him.

I definitely depends on the guest and the circumstances!!!
