We would have eliminated the garter toss... it was just kind of arkward...
ETA: Not have spent the night at the hotel in a wedding suite... I do not think the room was worth the money...

Re: If you could do it all over again ...
Just wanted to say that this thread is really helpful...I'm getting married in 6 weeks and have read through this over and over again. What I got out of it most is to stop and take in the day and and eat at the CH!
Thanks Newleyweds!

Re: If you could do it all over again ...
Where do I begin?
I definitely would have had more 'wedding' hair.
I would have gotten married much later in the day and splurged on a 'night time' wedding.
I would have only had my MOH and not that one extra bridesmaid who turned out to be totally useless.
I would have kept on my matching shawl to hide my enormous upper arms.
I would have had a 'must take' photo list.
I would have attended my CH.
I would have used a different florist.
I would have lost more weight!

Knowing what I know now....I'd pick a different photographer. ... I didn't get the type of pictures that I've always dreamed of.
This is exactly how I feel. I have a lot of 'nice' photos and not one 'wow' shot.

The real answer is NOTHING!
But, if I had to come up with something I would say.....not make my own menus and place cards. I thought it would be fun and save some money - in reality it was stressful and probably not much less than ordering them!

Everything went perfectly. The only thing I would change would be have a picture taken professionally with my puppy. I have 2 pics and they are from my camera. But other than that it was absolutely perfect!!

Re: If you could do it all over again ...
DH and I were talking about this no too long ago. If we could do it all over again we would have:
- Invited more people - Had the wedding on a Saturday - Had DH's brother and sil on the video interview (just got the parents and aunts) - Asked a few more people to be in the bridal party - Packed the Jordan Almonds better - Had four tiers on the cake and no ribbon - Taken more shots with guests
It's easy to be critical after the wedding but honestly we loved the wedding day and everything about it.

Re: If you could do it all over again ...
1) I would have used the hairdresser who did my trail, even though she was going to get there later than I thought we could handle. (I HATED my hair) 2) I would have made the programs fancier! LOL and this is the big one.... 3) I would have told my Mom to go ***k herself when she suddenly decided she wasn't paying for the wedding anymore - with the bill to the hall and florist and photographer still unpaid....
Otherwise, it was just the most wonderful day of my life!
ETA: Oh, yeah, totally the lipstick! I would have definetly (sp?) rememebred to reapply my lipstick!

I would have gotten some sleep the night before!
If you have any trouble sleeping, ask your Dr. for a sleeping pill and have it handy the night before. I was fine the day of my wedding and had an amazing time, but I still wonder if it would have been better if I had slept!

I would have made sure my dress was shorter and had a better bustle!

Nothing except----made the bustle more secure (would not stay up) and make sure I told the photographer to get a pic of my BIL playing the trumpet!
