Inaugeration- Are you watching?

I do not remember ever watching one in the past. I guess I never was a fan of George W. and maybe wasn't intrested when I was younger.

However I am excited to see the whole pomp and circumstance of the day. Luckily for me at work I have the ability to watch it. I even have the Today Show on now, so I can see whats going on.

Yes! I am home and watching it, plan to have it on all morning. I think it's pretty amazing and watching some clips from the concert on Sunday night (they showed the clips yesterday AM), I had tears in my eyes. Beyonce was sooooo emotional - it always makes me tear up to see others doing the same, anyhow - I have a sense that I am not grasping the whole thing like she and other african americans are, you know? I mean I understand the importance and I am very proud of our country, but it's different for african americans, and it must be so, so amazing for them.

I know what you are saying. I am part African American! I know I don't look like it at all, but my real dad is P.R and A.A.. I can see why it is so important for people of race on so many levels.

But I feel like it is an amazing day for all of us. No matter what party you side with or who you voted for.. we have a big change coming our way.

I agree - it's huge for this country. That's why I am watching mainly - just a huge, huge day and it's very exciting.

YES iam am watching CNN Live online. MY School has linked it throughout the district for all to see. There will also be a viewing in all the schools assembly's. Iam so excited to watch!!!

nope i am at work and on the phones so i cant even listen to the radio - which is funny since technically he will be my new boss

I am so excited to get to watch! The only reason I am getting to is because in NC I have a snow day (not too much snow, but I am so relieved since the city has like 2 plows and no one can drive so the roads are scary). I was actually pretty upset that work wasn't setting up TVs for the inauguration, since they do it for the college basketball championships! However, since I'm home it doesn't matter!

The college is showing it live in our theater and everyone is invited to watch. So I am thinking I am going depends on my main boss but he did say yes last week and I need to take pics of the people watching.

I am at work so I can't watch it. My coworker will turn her radio up so some of us can hear but since I don't have speakers I can't even listen through my computer

Do you think that this should have been a day off for people? Not just because there is a AA president, but because this is a major event for the nation?

No, I can't. Corporate sent an e-mail last week with explicit instructions not to watch any video stream. They anticipate people will want to watch the coverage but said that the additional traffic will saturate the network. Soo they will be closely monitoring internet usage today!

Funny you mention it BC my BFF Facebook update this AM was about she can't believe that Charlotte schools closed for one inch of snow!! I didn't know it was BC there are only two plows!!!

To answer the OP question: No, BC I have no internet or TV at work, when I do post from work its on my BlackBerry.
I'm sure I can catch recaps on every news channel and you tube tonite though!

Wow!! Surprised that they would monitor your internet to make sure you dont 'clog' the network!! They should get a tv somewhere then.

I think that if we had off for other inaugurations then we should have off for this one. Otherwise, no.
