I saw a thread like this on LIF and was thinking about what will I be giving up. So my question to you all is-
What are you giving up? Or What are you doing more of? Or What changes are you making?

I am trying my best to fast until dinner tonight, and also on good friday. I do allow liquids, otherwise I would pass out. No meat on fridays.
Giving Up- Gossiping
Adding More Of- Signing DH & I up for some charity work, like habitat for humanity. Also trying to focus on being a calmer person, and not letting the little things get to me.
liquids are definitely allowed! I am going to have some toast around lunchtime b/c I dont want to pass out in church LOL
I grew up in Jersey and the churches there dont do this, so I dont either. I also dont know that I could, I am anemic and would probably pass out if I went without food.
I wouldn't fast if I were anemic or had any other medical condition. So far so good, I did have some OJ b/c I was feeling a little woozy. I think I can hold out until dinner, might have to have some soup before that. Hopefully next year I will be pregnant by lent, and not have to fast.
I think it is a personal choice on fasting. My church says anyone over 18 and under 59 should fast unless there is some medical condition that would make it unsafe to do so.
However as I write I know my DH already had breakfast, lunch, and a ton of snacks.
