My poor chewbaby

As some of you know we have an older, special needs-ish doggy, Chewie. Well, its winter time now and Chewie loves the snow. But the salt kills his feet. We've tried everything, like booties, musher's wax, none of it works for him so we just try to avoid salty areas. This is the first morning out that there is any salt and there wasn't very much so I tried to avoid it on our morning walk but noticed him at one point lifting his feet like he does when they hurt, so I picked him up and he was crying! Not like whining like I had heard before, this almost sounded like bleeting like a sheep would do, he was crying like he was CLEARLY in pain! I started crying too! It was so sad!! He's ok now but I called DH who was so meh about the whole thing I just needed to share with others

Poor little baby boo! It is very hard to watch an animal in pain....nevermind one who you love so bad!

You sound like an amazing momma so just love on your little man and help him through his rough patches!

we tried, he wont even put his feet down, he HATES them it was actually kind of funny but he basically refused- the equivalent of a child sitting down, crossing his arms and pouting!

Awww poor baby!!! My Boston has cried like that too in the winter. Its soooo sad when they cry!!! Its heart breaking.

my dog is a little too dumb to feel the pain- luckily he's toughened up over the years. But today on the way back into the house, i picked him up to avoid having to walk over the salt unnecessarily.

i know what you mean, took Kane to the vet yesterday and all he kept saying was told you so, i was soo angry.
