My Poor Hubby! (updated)

Original post by PreshusSmurf

Went to his Mom's house for dinner last night .... she made some kind of baked chicken ....

He came home at midnight, and has been sooooooo sick ever since. We've been up ALL night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Violently vomiting every 2 hours at first .... now its slowed down a little bit, to every 2 1/2 hours. His face is all splotchy from broken blood vessels.

He finally fell asleep (I can't sleep ), I hope this lasts a bit longer.

I feel so bad, I just don't know what to do for him. My mom dropped off some Pepto this morning, when he wakes up I might have him try that.

Is there a virus going around? Or was it the darn chicken?

Any one have ideas or helpful hints on this one?

Update on DH

A HUGE thank you to all you girls for all your advice and hugs today, you really helped me (as always!)

He slept for almost 9 hours straight!!!!!

And I was able to sleep about 4 hours while he slept, which I really needed too!

We think its out of his system now, he just feels really weak and icky. But he's been able to keep some solid foods down ... a couple of pretzels, some rye toast, and a handful of rice chex cereal (dry, no milk).

Usually when he's sick he won't let anyone take care of him, but he's actually been letting me help him with things ... the biggest sign that he's feeling really really crummy.

I just want him to be better!

When he called his mom after he woke up, he told her that she tried to poison him last night!

when he can keep fluids down, give him some pedialyte... that will help him regain his electrolytes

Re: My Poor Hubby!

I'm sorry to hear that! I hope he feels better soon!

I had the same thing come on suddenly last Wednesday night. Earlier I had gone out to dinner with my dad and even shared some food with him. Later around 1 in the morning I started to not feel well out of no where. I got sick so many times that I just fell asleep on the floor in the bathroom since I was too tired to make it back to my bed. I was all alone since DH was at work. I thought it might have been the food, but my dad never got sick.

I waited until I had stopped with the vomiting for several hours before I started trying to have some water. DH went and got me Gatorade, Lipton soup with the noodles in it, and jello. It was gone in about 24 hours, but I read to keep it easy with the eating for a few days. Bananas helped me get my energy back. Here is a website I found.

Awww Jess!!! I hope DH feels better soon!!!

I agree with all the girls in giving him some water, or diluted gatorade or ginger ale...

Maybe some crackers or dry toast later down the line

Hope he feels better soon! Could it be the flu? Definitely keep him hydrated. At least he's getting some sleep - that should help!

We are so sorry to hear about this. What you have been giving him this evening is good. You might also want to give him Ginger Ale. It settles the tummy. It works for me when I am not feeling good.
