Have someone else do the seating arrangements- that way you can't be blamed for it from unhappy guests

Dont stress over the weather and check itevery minute. Its the 1 thing that is totally out of your control

DOJ- try to buy something that you can use again. Or like I did- I borrowed my great grandmothers earrings from my mom- used a bracelet that DH had given me- and my necklace was a wedding gift from DH.

make sure you eat a little something so you don't feel weak on your wedding day!

There are SO many things I learned from planning the wedding from people telling me or from my own personal experience.

My advice though that sticks out is save money in certain places but find the EXACT photographer that you are looking for. These are your memories! Make sure you put EXCATLY what photographer you want in your contract.

Like I said I WISH I could change a lot of things but my photos I am not happy with and I wish I could go back, look at more photographers and make sure to put that photographer in my contract of the type of pictures I wanted!

Insist on things from vendors! If you want something and they tell you 'o no this is better' tell them 'do it' (but in nicer terms of course). I wanted a certain bustle, she did things her way, it fell even just standing still! I spent more time having my bustle fixed then dancing and I wish I would have told her to do what I wanted! I also couldn't breathe bc my seamstress wouldn't let the dress out bc she told me it fit fine. So like I said INSIST ON THINGS!!! They work for you!

Don't listen to 39486238476234 opinions because, believe me, EVERYONE has one. Do what you and FH want to do to make it the best day for you both.

Try to get things that you can reuse. My cardbox was a mailbox which we will be able to use again. The hoodies with the name and date on it for day of getting ready are cute- but will you really wear it all that often. I got a plain white hoodie that I can wear all the time.

invest in rain boots and umbrellas. I swore it wouldn't rain on my wedding. It did. the one day in the whole month we had rain. I couldnt take the outside pictures I wanted because the ground was wet and I didnt go prepared. Now I think about how cute it would have been to have been able to go outside and get those pictures if properly prepared.

Don't sweat the small stuff....the day is about being surrounded by your closest family and friends and having them witness the love between you and your DH.

and nothing else matters.

My tip: Overbudget Overbudget Overbudget.

If your contract is for 4k, try to realistically imangine it's 5k or even 4500 so you have that extra $ in mind.

I've found that saving is more then a financial thing, it's a mental thing.

During a dance set just step aside and watch. Give yourself a moment to really see your wedding from a guests point of view for a minute. It'll give you a chance to enjoy all of your planning and really appreciate all the hard work.

DO NOT start asking people to be in your bridal party more then a year in advance. Relationships can change too easily and financial situations change quickly as well.
