When you want to win anything on NYCity.com/LIW.com always buy a sushi lunch or a chocolate chocolate cake .

Take one day during your wedding week to do something NOT wedding related! I went to the Yankees game with my family, DH, and my aunt. It was GREAT to get out there, enjoy my favorite sport (even though I'm a Mets fan) and relax!

bring a second, comfy pair of shoes to change into after the reception. My feet were killing me and my bridal slippers helped me keep dancing.

Re: Newlywed Contest - Share a wedding tip and win an iPod Shuffle!
My advise: Enjoy every single moment regardless of ANYONE else...you can NEVER make everyone happy (as much as I would LOVE for that to happen). The day goes by in a flash and if you don't take some time to take it all in, you will miss it

No matter what happens, do not skip the honeymoon. We did for financial reasons and totally regretted it. After all the planning and anticipation for the wedding and the day goes by so fast, it would have been really nice to have had a few days somewhere right after the wedding to get away.

Wait to buy your attire. You will probably change your mind about colors, theme, etc. You don't want to be stuck with BM dresses you hate, or a wedding dress you fell out of love with.

Don't rush through your day. Take some time to be with DH and revel in the moment. It only happens once and you'll wish it lasted forever.

Take some time to relax and unwind. Even when you have a million things to do. If you are frazzled you will have a harder time making decisions.

Make sure you see multiple of the same venue types before making a decision so you have prices to compare. Read their reviews as well.

Clearly convey to your vendors what you want and what your expectations are. When necessary make sure they are on your contract when you sign it.

Always go with you gut.... Saving s few dollars might not be worth it if you get a better vibe from someone else. especially vendors you need to work close with on your wedding day like photographer etc

Don't do a wedding reality show
LMAO!!!
No really the best advice I think is to remember its your day, and while everyone will be giving you advice and their opinions, in the end, you and your FH need to be happy.
When you walk down the aisle its HIS face you're starring at. And its for the rest of your life. A wedding is the first major thing for the 2 of you and if you can survive wedding planning you can do anything.

Whatever you do, sit back and take EVERYTHING in on your wedding day. Don't let the craziness of family and friends dragging you away to take pictures distract you from your special day. Spend lots of time on the dance floor with your hubby and just enjoy EVERY MINUTE. Whatever happens, happens - you are married now and nothing bad that happens that day will take that away from you.

Pretend your wedding date is a month before your actual date and plan everything to that...The day before our wedding instead of running around we had a picnik!

Re: Newlywed Contest - Share a wedding tip and win an iPod Shuffle!
I didn't realize having a full red rose bouquet that the color rubs off on your wedding dress... so if you have a red rose bouquet my advice is CLUB SODA my bridal attendant was constantly dabbing it on a napkin and trying to take care of it for me and also just realize you will have red marks on your dress but that it will come out when you get it cleaned and preserved! No one will notice it but you on the day.

Re: Newlywed Contest - Share a wedding tip and win an iPod Shuffle!
Try not to forget that it is your wedding. Magazines, movies and even sometimes wedding websites can make girls go a little crazy with the 'Oh I have to have this and I have to do this at my wedding'. They even made entertaining reality tv shows about girls going nuts before the wedding! Remember that all of the extra stuff and superfluities that you feel you 'need' at your wedding, won't even matter because it will all melt away the moment that you look into your new husband's eyes. Don't get caught up in the wedding hype because the two most important accessories at the wedding are you and your groom :)Welcome New Vendors
