Nick and Jessica on the rocks

the post today reported that nick wants a little seperation, mentioning her father. Her father is a wacko, would you tell your father back off for a while to save your marriage?

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

Uhhh yeah....of course!!

I think the mother is way to far up their a$$es too. What did he expect marrying a Mommy/Daddy's girl???? He wants a woman, yet he married a girl/arm trophy.

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

While I love my family (well, more or less ) I would have no hesitation in telling ANY OF THEM to 'back off' when it came to me and my DH. My marriage comes first!

I'm not sure how reliable the story about Nick & Jessica is, esp. if the source is THE POST

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

fr the post:

BREAK TIME?

IS there trouble in paradise for Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey? A pal of the famously married duo says: 'Nick is very upset right now. He feels like he is trying to have his own career and Jessica's parents give him no respect. They don't treat him well. The MTV cameras [for the show 'Newlyweds'] are going to go away soon and when they do, Nick wants a break.' When asked if that means Lachey will separate from Simpson, the spy countered: 'He needs some alone time.' A rep for Lachey said, 'That's completely false!' Meanwhile, Simpson's dad, minister Joe Simpson just signed a management deal with Geffen Records.

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

I think the dad has something for the daughter. he is wayyyy too much in their business. Did you see the time he walked out on them and they were all topless. If that was my dad he would be so embarassed!

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

That is sad. There is something endearing about them and the show...even DH admitted last night that he finds the show amusing (this after making all sorts of fuss every time I watch it)

But, her dad is totally crazy - her mom too!! Did you see the one where they recorded Take My Breath Away and the dad was all into it, playing air drums and making faces when they played back the track and everyone was like what the $@*# are you on????

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

I know the post is not reliable, but I think it was going to be a matter of time before this happened. Please when I post this next line, no one flip or take it the wrong way, but, I never trust a wedding night virgin to make it forever. Not that she is not happy with him, but it is too fairy tailish, that is not real life, real people have a buring desire and don't wait to get married, is everyone forgetting jessica was engaged to her father at age 13, and wore a ring her gave her!!!!! They don't even have an active sex life on that show, he seems frustrated all the time

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

I found the ring the Father gave her, they call it a 'Promise' ring, to be very very suspect!

I would have no problems in telling my Father to back off. My Mother either!
ha, I'm almost to the point where I'm about to tell my In-laws to back down!!!!! I'm one who puts husband first, not family. He became my top priority the minute we said I do. I love my family, my Mom.. but, she's got to understand.....................

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

Yeah, I thought that was a little incestuous too (the ring). He was going on about how proud he was that she was still wearing that ring on the day she got married. Can someone say 'EWWWHHHH??' Like my Dad needs to know when I'm getting some play?? I just want to barf!! I could imagine him tossing off to the idea.

FREAK!!!!!!

Yeah I though there was something very odd about the dad from the beginning....he just seems like an airhead (guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree )

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

It was also weird, that episode where the dad and nick are watching her sweetest sin video in the living room and nick is complaining that he did not receive enough money to make a real video. she is in practically nothing in the video rolling around in bed with nick on a beach, and that creepy dad is watching. My dad is not a prude, but he would never watch a video of me and DH rolling around and grabbing each other in a waterfall. But I am not a Daddy's little girl type, so is this normal. any Daddy's princesses out there that has a different view?

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

I too think he is a little off, but as for the ring I know what it is. See I practice the same faith as they do, and for the youths in the church there is something called the promise program, and it is a program about abstinence. My church started the program when about 10 16yr old girls in the church got pregnant and they decided it is something they needed to address. You go through this program learning about sex and choices you have to make, then at the end of the program if you decide to partake, they have your parents buy you a ring and it is called a promise ring and you and your parents make a promise that you will abstain until you are married. At my church they give you all the info about sex and parenting, and they even have some of the young mothers come in and talk about how hard it is to be a young parent and there struggles and then at the end you can decide to abstain or not, but it is not done in public it is something that is done between you and your parents.

It is a great program and so far out off all the girls that took the classes only 1 out of 100 girls got pregnant.

Re: Nick and Jessica on the rocks

Her dad is totally off. I am 30 years old, married with 3 kids and my dad tells himself that the stork brought them! He will not cross the threshold into my bedroom (once my little one was on the bed watching tv and he wanted to kiss him goodbye but he called him out from the doorway!). There is no way in hell he would watch my DH and I roll around half naked making out!

I'm a daddy's girl to the nth degree...but my dad would DIE on the spot if he saw me in a compromising situation so no, I don't think that's normal either. No matter how close you are, there are still boundaries. Well, with normal people at least.
