NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
I DO NOT MIND THE OCASSIONAL QUESTIONS BUT SOMETIMES WHEN I COME HERE I GET A LITTLE CONFUSED AS TO WHICH BOARD I AM ON. OVER THE PAST WEEK I HAVE SEEN A FEW BRIDES POST THE SAME QUESTION ON BHB AND THEN ON HERE. I AM NOT TRYING TO ALIENATE ANYONE, BUT I DO NOT LIKE ALL THE BRIDAL QUESTION ON THIS SIDE. IF YOU LEAVE YOUR POST OVER THERE AND YOU DON'T GET THE RESPONSE YOU ARE SEEKING1) DO A SEARCH
2) DO A SEARCH
3)DO A SEARCH
DID I ALREADY SAY DO A SEARCH. MOST OF US DO NOT VISIT THE BHB ALL THE TIME, BUT EVENTUALLY WE DO MAKE OUR WAY OVER THERE. I AS WELL AS A LOT OF OTHERS DO NOT LIKE THE NW BOARD BEING TAKEN OVER BY ALL THE BHB QUESTIONS. I MUST SAY THE BRIDES ON HERE ARE VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND IF YOU GET AN ANSWER OVER THERE, LET ME SAY ITS IS GOOD. IF YOU ARE THEN NOT SATISFIED, THEN THIS SHOULD BE YOUR LAST/EMERGENCY RESORT.
I DO NOT WANT TO ALIENATE ANYONE, BUT I HAVE REALLY HAVE ENOUGH OF ALL THE BHB POST ON THIS SIDE. I AM NOT TRYING TO GET A BAND GOING OF BANNING OF BRIDE'S QUESTIONS ON THIS SIDE, I JUST WANT IT OUT THERE THAT THIS SIDE IS TITLED NEWLYWED AND NOT BHB. THANKS FOR LISTENING
I WILL NOW STEP OFF MY SOAPBOX
*WALKS AROUND WITH PROTEST SIGN, KEEP THE NWB FREE OF ALL THE BHB POST*

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
I agree with you 100%. We are definitely seeing more of those posts, and it gets really annoying.Maybe they should create a separate board for those questions.

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE

I don't think we need a separate board for these questions - one already exists - BHB! Brides helping brides - we're all brides, past present or future. And BHB is the appropriate board for wedding related questions.
I see a lot of wedding questions pop up on NWR too, and I just don't understand it...could it be any clearer? NWR = NOT WEDDING RELATED!!
But I've tired of getting beat up whenever I complain about these posts...hats off to you Shamma!

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
Lisa, I remember when this space, our space was sacred. No one uses the search feature anymore, this is so upsetting and everywhere I go I see all these repetitive questions. I understand new people join all the time, but please keep it to BHB. I want my board back
even when we are not as active, I want it to remain NW. Sometimes I come on here and a NW thread is on page 3 and the first t 2 pages are filled with nothing but bridal questions
Most of us have which vendors we used in our profiles and if you have a specific question, you can always fm us.

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
wanted to add: I've posted this in the past a few times, but gave up the fight because I felt like I was the minority and I didn't notice any change
Maybe Shamma's post will make a difference

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
Terri, one thing I have noticed tho is the NW's have stopped answering, or there are very few response. I think in their own way they have been sending the message. I don't mind answering, I just don't want it to be here.

Yes, for the most part I've since stopped answering those types of questions on here a long time ago!

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
I know I am going to get an earful for this, and no offense to Shamma (I don't know you but feel like I do and love you) but I do not agree.I almost never go on the newlywed board, as a matter of fact I think this may (can't say for sure) be my first post on it ever, but to say it is your board is not true, it is a public forum! How can anyone claim it?
If you see it is a wedding question that you don;t want to answer then you don't have to look at the post!
I would think not all newlyweds look at bhb and sometimes the best person to answer a question is someone who has been there.
Sorry, don't hate me- JMO.

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
I don't think anyone is claiming the board. There is a place for these repetitive questions, and some of us are saying this is not the place for it.

I understand what you are saying, but who decides what is appropriate to post or not? Why can you just not answer if you don't like it?Again, no offense to anyone- jmo.

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
I would say LIW decided who's board it is when they named it 'For Newlyweds Only'. The Chit Chat index describes it perfectly:For Newlyweds Only
Long Island Newlyweds Unite!
From engagement to honeymoon, the planning and all the bumps along the way, you made it! You're married, congratulations. But, you still have questions and concerns? Well, here's the place for you.
Those of us that have been around while remember a time when the newlywed board was a sacred place, but since they shortened the name on top to make room for more tabs, we seem to keep losing more and more of our board. I enjoy helping brides, but I go to BHB when I want to answer questions or offer advice.

Re: NO MORE DOUBLE POSTING PLEASE
Lisa, I understand your point but I must say- it bothers me a little when all the 'old timers' say I remember when LIW was small and we had this and that-It hurts our feelings!! I am a nice person too!
There are so many people and I think it is great! And we have all benefited from the newlyweds- I have looked at the picture of your beautiful dress more times than I can count while I was shopping for mine!
Again, sometimes it is helpful for the brides to speak to the newlyweds who have been through it all already, and the new people don't know that they are not welcome on this board.
