I was going to go.. but now I feel like half of the people going are those that are on the other site- and if they all want to just hang out with those INVITED to their site, why would they want to hang out with us 'left overs' that aren't cool enough to talk to?

Amen Sassy. My thoughts exactly.

Why would they want to bother since some of the participants of this GTG were clearly NOT included on the other site? It's a bit of a slap in the face if you ask me for them to be all buddy-buddy with you at the GTG, but you're not good enough to be in the inner circle. Who does have time for this?

I wish you'd reconsider. No one considers anyone a 'left-over'.

I tired explaining what happened but no one wants to hear me or try and understand, so I'm beginning to feel like I'm wasting my breath. And I don't know why I'm bothering anyway when all I'm getting is hostility.

I had NOTHING to do with creating the new site and I wasn't in charge of who invited who. I wasn't the 1st or 10th or 20th person to join, but I don't care. Because it wasn't a personality contest. It was who's email do we have, who thought of who, etc. There are many people we wish would join, but everything is on hold for now.

But regardless of that - who says we need to do EVERYTHING together? Thats like saying if some people GTG, everyone needs to be invited? If I call one person, I have to call everyone? If I invite some people to a party, I have to invite all of LIW? Thats ridiculous.

Its folks here that seem to be drawing the lines, not me and not many others.

(ETA: I admit I'm starting to wonder why I'm still here with people talking about 'boycotting' threads and crap like that).

I can only speak for myself but I wanted to thank you for explaining at least a little more about what went on. No one else bothered to do that. It became clear to me yesterday that I wasn't receiving all of my FMs (hmmmm) and I was very much in the dark. (Note to others-Someone might have FMed you info and you didn't get it.)

You're feeling the backlash because you're the only one speaking openly about it. Unfortunately, hurt feelings aren't like lamps that have a switch...you can't just turn them off. Many, many wonderful people have left this site and I think the feelings expressed on that other thread are normal in light of the upheaval. Your explanation helps but people will just need time to forget about this. The best way to make that happen is to stop talking about it so I'll aid in that effort by shutting up very shortly. I just wanted to say that I see both sides and no one's feelings are invalid.
