Not familiar with that one, we stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado - beautiful!

You should definitely check out their 2 zoos - one in SD and another Wild Park right outside the city.....La Jolla is also a really nice town. Erica can fill you in on where to go though

Re: Ok its decided 1st yr Anniversary in San Diego Anyone stay at the Bahia Resort?

Bahia is a very nice resort, not sure what you are looking for and when you are coming. The beach is about a block away and I am not sure when you are coming, but it is very crowded and very young...not sure how old you are

There is an old paddleboat (I think that is what they are called??), really pretty and it takes you around the bay and to and from another hotel, the Catamaran. The Catamaran is very nice and is also right on the bay, you can walk to Pacific Beach (which is a little nicer than Mission Beach which is where Bahia is). There are lots of restaurants and bars in PB and in Mission Beach, too, they just have a little different type of 'crowd.'

Both are in the same general area and you would have fun no matter where you are, San Diego is great! Feel free to Forum Mail me, I have lived here for 5 years and love it!

Deirdre

oops...just saw you are coming in May, it won't be soo crowded then which makes a difference, too!

Re: Ok its decided 1st yr Anniversary in San Diego Anyone stay at the Bahia Resort?

Young is like 18-20 year olds! (We're 28)
Hotel Del is really nice and like the Catamaran you can walk around the town where the hotel is. Both Pacific Beach and Hotel Del are great places to stay. Let me know if you have any questions about either place. The only draback with Hotel Del is that since you have to go over a bridge to get there and back, traffic is sometimes a pain depending on what time you are coming/going...

Re: Ok its decided 1st yr Anniversary in San Diego Anyone stay at the Bahia Resort?

The area where the Bahia is located and the beaches as well are where the crowd is very young. Here is the link for catamaran if you want to check it out. I think anywhere you stay you will have fun. If you are interested in walking around near stores, retaurants, bars, etc..there is not too much of that near Bahia. It is located close to a big, old roller coaster that doesn't always attract the most desirable

Re: Ok its decided 1st yr Anniversary in San Diego Anyone stay at the Bahia Resort?

I stayed at the Hyatt Islandia which i LOVED.. it was a great stay and the restruants were great.

I loved the hotel del coronado but it was very touristy so there was ALWAYS so many people there.

the SD zoo was great and the Gaslamp was a great time, wacky you would love it.

We went to a resturant called Bertrands at Mr. A's which was reffered to me by our own Yabbobay and I loved it. The chef sent us a plate of cookies with Happy Anniversary written on it in chocolate sauce and our conceirge at the hotel called the resturant and told them it was our 1 year anniversary and they sent over wine for us.

we didn't get this!!!!! and our waiter knew it was our anniversary since we asked him to take pictures!!!!

wacky...one of the first times that we came to check SD out - we stayed at the Holiday Inn on the Bay...it was nice...b/c it was right on the harbor and within walking distance to all the downtown events (SD is not a walking type of city - so this was great) -- it also had a view of the Sea World fireworks everynight...

Pacific Beach is where the Real Worlders went to party...so if you can catch an episode you can get an idea....
