thanks everyone for your compliments!! here's more.. i swear theyre never going to end!

keep in mind we had two photographers (one american, one indian) plus tons on DH's camera.

so while i was getting ready so was DH and his people at the hotel. it's tradition for the guys' side to have a dhol (drum) player who also sings. the guys' side is called the 'baraat' and they do lots of dancing at wedding time

so here they are at the hotel .. im sure many hotel guests were freaking out hehe.

DH and his fam got to the wedding and the horse was there. it's tradition for the groom to ride in on a horse. We found an amazing couple who owned a horse ranch - this was the first time they did an indian wedding and they loved it. they dance at this part too ... meanwhile the girls' side is waiting and i'm hidden away in a room.

the groom usually has a young cousin or relative sit with him for a bit.

then there's a ceremony called the Milni where people from both sides will come to the middle and hug exchange garlands.

here's my dad and DH's dad.



keep in mind my dad was verrry sad, happy, but very sad



another random tradition is when the people meet to hug, one will try to pick up the other one to see who wins

my dad never wanted me to leave california .. he's very attached to me. so this was a shock to them. so yea, very sad about me leaving.

ok time for the wedding to begin. after those ceremonies outside everyone has breakfast and then they go into the Gurdwara. Then they move the groom to the middle and the bride walks in and the ceremony is conducted. meanwhile i was waiting outside hyperventilating haha .. i couldn't believe it was FINALLY time. it was such a strange feeling with so many mixed emotions. of course i started bawling and i couldn't stop, no matter how much i tried. i cried a LOT that day!

This is called the Palla Ceremony - the father of the bride takes the scarf that the groom is wearing and hands one end of it to the bride, signifying that she is now leaving his care to be with him. As if I wasn't going to cry!
