Hi girls, This is my first post as a newlywed. THings have been great, wedding went smoothly, honeymoon-awesome...what could go wrong...my pics are horrible. I have NO, I mean NO pictures from my reception. My photographer was MIA for like most of it. I have 30 proofs of just posed shots of my immediate family- i had 200 people at the wedding. I am soo upset. My question for you guys is how many proofs did you get? I have 300 for a time period of 4pm - 1am. I meet with them tomorrow and feel like crying. the day is lost and i'm miserable. Thanks for you help.
Heygirls, I met with the manager today and he didn't argue that my pictures weren't what we were promised. We have to speak with the owner next week about monetary compensation. The manager said they may be able to take stills from the video...i hope they get good shots from that...that would be somewhat satisfying. Thanks for all of your support girls, the manager was very sympathetic, so hopefully things go well with the owner next week and we can get at least some shots of our reception, and money back. I'll be updating again...hope you all are doing well!

Why was he missing for part of your reception? I would be pretty darn ticked off!! How much did you pay him? Did you state anyting in your contract about how many shots he would take?

Re: Picture nightmare
I don't know. We had met prior to the wedding and told him we really wanted mostly candids of our reception of family and friends - that was most important. Then we told him just before dinner to please focus on our guests. I remember thinking throughout the night that i didn't see him, but i didn't have a second to really think about it. I figured he was doing what I said and taking candids of people at the bar, at the tables, on the dance floor...... 300 proofs sounds low, right? it only specifed the timeframe in my contract 4pm-1am. not how many shots..ugh help...

Re: Picture nightmare
Go there and throw a fit! I would be so upset if I were you. Tell them that first off, 300 is a low amount of proofs. Tell them that just from the photo count it's obvious that your photographer wasn't doing much during your reception. See what they do to offer to remedy the situation. It's unfortunate that you didn't specify how many proofs you were supposed to get, because then you could get money back for breach of contract. I'm so sorry you're going through this!

Re: Picture nightmare
Thanks, we are counting the pics now...they are horrible though....there are 10 of the vienesse hour - 7 of which are of the two of us previewing it before they opened it.. and 3 are of cakes...no guests. Then, there are no pictures after that.....and there was an hour and 45 minutes left which had everyone on the dance floor. I'm so frustrated and miserable.
Thanks for the support ) :

Re: Picture nightmare
I have 500 proofs from 5-12. The number of proofs were specified in my contract. I would make a list of the pictures you are missing and a list of complaints/questions that you have. It is possible that they didn't give you all the proofs that they have. Make sure you get a timeframe. A lot of times, the pictures are time stamped so ask that they prove their time to you. I hope it all works out for you!

Re: Picture nightmare
I had 300 proofs from 1:30-12:00 - and he pretty much covered everything. There were a couple of shots I wish I had told him to take - but that was my own fault. I would say something.

me too.
I'm sorry this happened. Did they estimate how many proofs they usually do? Most of the photographers I looked into gave an estimate of how many to expect.

Re: Picture nightmare
I'm sorry this happened to you. We had 600 proofs. But they're not all that great. We were supposed to have two photographers...And I think the one guy was just trying too hard to compensate for the missing second photograher... B rett M atthews.

Re: Picture nightmare
I would be furious!
I have over 1,200 proofs, but I had 2 photographers (and I didn't get an album done).
I would raise hell if I were you!

Re: Picture nightmare
I also got about 300 proofs, but I was told this in advance and it was fine with me. If you think you can't stand up to these people, take your most aggressive friend with you and have them pitch a fit! Even a not-so-good wedding photographer should know that they should be taking photos at the reception, I think. I mean, shoot, I am not a photographer and even I know that! They should do something to try to make it up to you in my opinion. Good luck!

Re: Picture nightmare
I liked the advice of the person on '05. Double check your contract to see how many proofs you were supposed to get. Also, bring a notebook that lists the Better Business Bureau information so they know you mean business!! I am sorry this happened to you
