I think a new board would be helpful. I don't mind answering questions, but I dislike when the NW board gets flooded with questions from B2Bs, and the posts from the newlyweds get lost.

I go on BHB and answer questions where I can, but many newlyweds don't, because so many of the topics don't apply to us anymore. I think a new board would allow the NWs to more clearly see the questions that the B2Bs want answered while leaving the NW board just for us.

I agree. Although I do look on BHB, sometimes there are too many posts to look through to find the questions that are really for newlyweds.

I agree with this also!

I voted no. It doesn't bother me if brides ask questions on this board...

I agree

I don't think we need another board and it doesn't bother me when anyone else posts on this board. But I agree that maybe changing the name of the BHB board would make it all inclusive, like just 'Help for Brides.'

I don't mind brides posting here but its apparent that it bothers other newlyweds so i would be all for another board and i would be more then happy to go over there to help out.

I do agree there are too many underutilized boards here and some boards that should be created. It might make BHB less confusing.

I really think there should be a board for Honeymoons, over Charity, Reading, May etc. since this is a wedding website....and i even use the search function for trips i want to take and review other brides honeymoons. JMO of course

I voted yes because although I don't mind Brides posting on Newlyweds and asking for help in the least, it really, really upsets me when the newlyweds feel the need to reprimand the brides that post here. I think it's rude and it's mean.

Maybe a NHB will solve that problem...

I agree with this very much. I have been on this site for awhile and, honestly, the cross-posting has been an issue for some time now. With that said, I don't know if this will EVER be resolved. I do not think most brides to be mean any harm or ill will when they post here (although this has been established already). I do cringe sometimes when a 'gentle reminder' post is bumped. If I were a newer member and posted not knowing the 'rules', I would feel a little embarrassed. Honestly, the only reason I never did post on this board as a bride to be was because I am pretty shy and feared that type of backlash. Newlyweds are an EXCELLENT resource!! NHB may work out to be a good thing in that respect.

So, we have 120 votes.

Would the other 100 newlyweds please raise their hands

Ron, you should not have made this a poll. I think that in order to answer, the newlyweds should have written a response. Then, you would have gotten an accurate response to your question.

i hear ya but exactly how many boards to b2b need to ask questions...
They have the BHB, year boards, they post questions on the review board....i mean really..

in all honestly i never minded the questions...BUT it got to be that the majority of posts on this board were b2b questions...

I think that it would be nice to have a board that newlyweds can look to for them...

I think that yes there are DEFINATELY boards that are COMPLETELY SILLY and USELESS...

BUT to say that the NW board is SLOW....well imo it is a hell of a lot faster than other boards kept...

There is a lot of wrong board threads and posts...So much that i think having titles is useless now

I have noticed that too. NWR on BHB, etc. And there has been debate on another board about who should post what on what board, etc.

I am one of the people who has made comments to B2Bs about posting on this board. I just feel that there are clear guidelines (i.e. For Newlyweds Only for Newlyweds and '05 Brides for Brides Getting Married In '05) as well as more than ample board and other resources for B2Bs. To come here and see an influx of posts about wedding stuff when it's just not relevant to us anymore is annoying, especially when there is already so much out there.

But, inevitably this board will probably be flooded again with wedding-related posts, which is a shame, because I would like a place that's 'just' for newlyweds. Just like the O5 and 06 girls have a place that is 'just' for them. I don't think that's a lot to ask for.

honestly i think that once the LIWFAMILIES is up and running this kind of issue hopefully will resolve itself...

I know i for one will be there...

Re: Please answer the following poll.

i like donna's idea of having 'category specific' boards. on many sites, its broken down by topic, not demographics, and i think for the B2B especially, that might be more resourceful.

i understand the frustrations with people not using the search option, but honestly, i've never had much luck with it in this board, and i'm usually pretty good with searching.

but i think if there were more specific boards, it may be more resourceful for the b2b's, and the main boards like BHB, 04,05,06 is more like a meeting place/random idea forum

Quite a few more people have answered this poll than have listed their name on the anniversary date thread.

Re: Please answer the following poll.

I don't necessarily mind the occassional b2b question on our board, but sometimes it does get out of hand.

I don't think people search enough, but I often excuse that because many people aren't as computer literate or web savy.

Someone mentioned how its just as annoying when people post questions on the Review Board. I always thought the Review Board was for recently married brides to post pictures, vendor opinions and wedding experience and advice. I don't think it should be for questions

I think there a lot of valid opinions here and I have an interesting solution:

Is it possible to restrict who create new posts on certain boards based on their wedding date?

For example, unless your user ID states that your wedding day has passed, you can not create a post on the Newlywed Board nor on the Review Board.

You can certainly view posts and respond on either board, but you cannot CREATE a NEW post.

Is this possible? What does everything think of that?

Just my two cents!
