We already feel like we are Ray and Debra on Everybody Loves Raymond and we're happy with that one!!!

But quite honestly, I don't think I'd want anyone's marriage but my own.

What an interesting question!

If you would have asked this question while I was dating- like whose relationship would you want then I would have an answer. Now I know better. The grass is not always greener. We have a couple friend who on the outside appear so lovey dovey- the guy treats the girl like a queen , so thoughtful, affectionate yada yada, and I have found myself saying why can't Dh be like that, come to find out this woman is not 100% happy herself, she has her bones to pick with him like he doesn't do this or that. One would have never thought.

I love my marriage, it may not be 100% perfect but I will keep it.

Moral: Things may not always be what they seem.

I wouldn't want it like any other person's relationship.. EVER.. I am soo happy with my marriage and the closeness I have with my husband.. All the money in the world could never substitute that...

Same with me. My DH is my bestest friend, we have a closeness and relationship like no one else (that we personally know) and I am so happy for this!

My BIL & SIL come close. They are married 5 yrs and have a wonderful closeness like we do.

I'd like my marriage to be like my parents'. They are not just husband and wife, but are friends too. They go places together and have lots of mutual friends that they do things with. They don't keep secrets from each other (I had so many friends while growing up who's parents began almost every sentence with 'Don't tell your mother/father, but...' That used to BUG me!! Why MARRY someone you can't be honest with!?).
Atthe same time, they have a balance of seperate interests and friends, and maintain their own personalities.

Exactly how I feel ladies. DH and I have been together 10 1/2 years and I feel we are an inspiration to alot of couples.

No one! I don't envy a single soul in this world. There isn't another couple on earth that has what my husband and I have, or has anything I would want.

I would have to say my parents or my inlaws they always joked with each other did everything together and were very happy!! We so that now, just want it to last as many years as our parents have!

I don't envy any other couple. I love my relationship and my marriage. Like nrvbrd said, the grass isn't always greener.

There is no realtionship out there like ours. People think we have a strange realtionship, we think we have a great one. You never know whats going to happen next

I like ours just the way it is. We bicker, which everyone doesn't alwasy get, but we never end up mad at each other, we get it out right then and there. Others don't get our relationship, but it works for us. We had been dating for over 10 years before we got married, so something must be working

My Dh is my best friend.. he understands me better than anyone.. I think if you look at other people marriages you do not know what happens when no one is around. We have friends who had a son a year ago and they NEVER leave the house. They did not even come to be and DH 30th Bday party. and the wife has said that she does not nbeed ANY female friends...WHAT??? why would I want to be friends with someone like that. .. and the DH just deals with it..
But as other have said my marriage may not be 100% perfect but it is so much better than it was 3 years ago. We understand each other and love and care for each other.. And seeing the way my DH is with my niece and nephew.. i know he is going to be the best father.. he even talks to my stomach every morning... I am very excited for the arrival of our new person and I think that since i got pregnant we have become even closer....
We are also so much alike that we do alotof thinks together.. he even loves to shop!!!!

I love our marriage too, but if I had to choose it would be my IL's they have been married for 41 years and are still so in love with each other.

I am very happy as well, but if I had to choose it would be my DH's aunt and uncle. You can just tell that even though they are husband and wife, they are best friends and always respect each other and are complete equals - it's very nice to be around!

It's funny, you tend to compare yourself to your friend's marriages/relationships. I know what Gary and I have is unlike ANY of what my other friends have. Gary was just saying that we have a couple who we are friends with that have a lot of money, a beautiful house, and a newborn and their relationship isn't good. Another couple have a house (bought recently) and haven't gotten to the point of marriage even though they have been together forever. He said we are ready to have children yet have no money and are living in an apartment! Goes to show you that people who 'seem' to have it all (whether it be money/children, etc), don't always have it ALL together....

ETA since I didn't fully answer the question...probably my aunt and uncle because they seem to get along really well after many, many years and are each other's best friends. I tend to be a lot like my aunt so that could be as well.

Interesting that a lot of us answered family members as to who we would like our marriages to be like!

I would have to say My parents. They were married 41 years when my mom died and had a great relationship. I will never forget a night when Matt had stopped over there for something and came home and was so overwhelmed that when he walked in they had been laying on seperate couches but holding hands while watching TV. I guess I never thought much of it because they always did it. He reminded me how amazing that was after all those years.

And while she was sick my dad was amazing and it was just something inspirational to watch. So I can only hope after that many years married Matt and I will be that way!
