Question about stopping BCP - maybe TMI? UPDATE ON SECOND PAGE
Original post by julesrbf
OK BEFORE you get excited, let me first state that I only started BCP in August because I had quit smoking and COULD, but it didn't agree with me (after trying multiple different ones) so I am stopping. So NO, we are not TTC.
OK.
So I was only on the pill since August and I would have started my next pack this past Sunday, but didn't because I just haven't felt 'normal' and didn't like how I felt.
At the beginning of last week my boobs have been SO FREAKING SORE ... to the point where when I am home I have to wear tanks with built in bras because I can't have them moving around too much. It suckss but I figured since I was due for AF on Thursday it would go away.
Well, AF skipped town yesterday and still my boobs are SO swollen and sore. Is my body readjusting to not being on the pill or something? Can anyone relate? Should I call my GYN?
TIA! And sorry if you just got a horrible mental image of my boobs!

I've been having sore boobs too....BUT I think if your boobs are exceptionally sore-especially if AF doesn't come.............................. you know what you need to get

Are you sure you are not pregnant?? When my sister was first pregnant this was her main complaint before she knew she was pregnant.

Hey - thanks for the preggo questions (NOT! LOL Just kidding!). I just finished an exceptionally normal AF and she left me yesterday. She came right on time and lasted for 5 days so I am going to doubt that I am pregnant and that it was implantation bleeding or anything.
ETA Now you've given me a shred of doubt! DAMMIT! I'm going to test later but I can't imagine that being on the pill AND having something extremely resembling AF could mean I'm preggo but I guess you just never know!

I have absolutely no advice for you but I wanted to acknowledge that I have read this thread and avoided a palm slap to the forehead throughout.
On a separate sorta related note, My cycle is 53 days long and I've been off BC for 2 years now this month after 11 years on it to regulate. I'm p!ssed because anywhere I look online says if your cycle is more than 45 days to contact your doctor. I don't get it... why should I bug my doc? PITA.
At least your boobs aren't itching. That's the WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't scratch 'cause then it hurts. There's no relief at all. Not to say mine are, but I hate when that happens!!!

Just so you know.... as someone who has been on BC and HATED it... and someone who reads the TTC boards and see's what all the girls write about going off BC.
Everyone reacts differently. Some girls are fine and normal immediately.... for others it takes a while... and some others it takes a LONG time. What you guy are feeling (physical symptoms) is totally normal, even the 'off' lengths of cycles are common. Remember.... these are hormones and it can take a while for your body to adjust to the changes. But really... if you are concerned you should go to a dr. They should be more familiar with it all.

All this cr@p makes me wish i had never been on the pill......................and I was on it for 10 years!
Me too Gail!!! Mike and I have been talking about me stopping because I'm just done with bc!! Not because we are ttc. We're nervous about birth control, but I want to stop the pill in the next few months or so.

Talk to your Dr. about getting an IUD I had to come off BCPs b/c of my Migraines and it is seriously the best thing I ever did...no pills, no hormones, no worries and all I had to do was get over my fear of having something inside of me that I cannot see.

I can't really help. I stopped at the end of December but I got my period already and although I feel like my chest is HUGEEEEEEEEEEE it's not sore or anything. I was on Loestrin 24 FE which is a very low dose pill.

OK - so just a slight update for all you who think I'm with child! Even though I was on BCP AND we were using condoms (I was on antibiotics for a bit too!) AND I had just gotten my period, I took a test anyway because you all made me paranoid and it was negative!
And my boobs still hurt!
I will call my GYN on Friday I guess if they still hurt, but thanks all for the advice/hilarity!
