Question - would like your input please

We currently have over 881,000 posts. The boards average between 2000 and 3000 new posts per day. So, in about a month we will top one million posts! WOW! We would like to give a prize to the person who posts the one millionth post. The question is, what should that prize be? Please be realistic!

Re: Question - would like your input please

Since I am still in vacation mode, how about a nice romantic weekend trip to a bed and breakfast somewhere? Or maybe a night on the town type of thing with tickets to a Broadway show, dinner and a limo to cart you around! For the OOT ladies the bed and breakfast weekend works too.

Re: Question - would like your input please

CONGRATULATIONS (a little early!) I would really prefer not to get a local GC...but I could definitely put it to use (give it to my mom or wait until I visit)

as for B&B...thats hard for OOT...if I am coming to the area...I have tons of friends and family to visit...its hard to get away without feeling guilty...

what about a GC to a home depot or lowes or BBB (since as B2Bs or NW we are/have started a new home together)

Savings bond? (that way you can make the prize look bigger too!! )

ETS: I told DH...and he looked nervous...he asked...what if people just post nonsense to get to one million? maybe you could make a provision to safeguard against it?

Re: Question - would like your input please

hmm, shopping spree, spa certificates, laptop, 4 day cruise for 2, wine of the month, surround sound, flat screen TV, amex gift cheques (good anywhere!)

what kind of budget are we talking about?

Re: Question - would like your input please

Thats a nice idea!

Hmm...tough call on the prize since a bride to be, newly married, mommy to be or long time mommy would probably all appreciate different things. Maybe set aside a budget and then decide after the millionth post?

Re: Question - would like your input please

I second what Stef says. This way you can decide depending on the lucky winner! You know us all so well..I am sure it wouldn't be hard! So set aside a little moolah for the special occassion!

Re: Question - would like your input please

Li Weddings I have a suggestion. Depending on which board the person writes the 1millionth post, thats how the gift should be decided

Like if its on the Newleywed then maybe a Gift Cert to Dinner

If on BHB board then maybe something to do for brides

If its on the Home Board then maybe a Gift Cert to a home improvement store

etc.

What do you think?

I like Wacky's idea. Set a budget aside and award the prize accordingly.

Re: Question - would like your input please

I say get an American Express gift check so that the winner can decide what to do with the prize. This way you do not have to worry about what is appropriate for btb, newlyweds, home owners, or parents.

Re: Question - would like your input please

My first instinct was an Amex gift certificate since it can be used anywhere and for anything.....

Re: Question - would like your input please

No bonds - I won the $1,00o one, and I can't cash it for a year, even to get the $500.

GC for Home Depot would be great, since I ahve been there at least 3 times a week in the last month!!!
