Someday when you give birth...

Who will be in the room with you? I'm watching Baby Stories today, and some of these people have like 10 ppl in there... MIL, sisters, friends... personally... EW. I don't want my SIL watching me give birth. I dont even want to watch it myself!

Just DH and the doctors and nurses! MY friend just had her sister and family in there...NEVER!!!

Aside from the surgeons and nurses, God willing, only my husband.

ETA: Oh, and there would be no video or cameras!

I really only want DH with me (outside of medical personnel of course).

ETA: I would love for my mom to be there too but that would only open a can of worms with my dad and in-laws I think.

My best friend seems to think she'd be in the room w/ me, but I dunno about that!! And if I give birth at Stony Brook, my SIL is a labor & Delivery nurse there so odds are good she'd be there! I don't know how comfy I'd be with that, either! Unless she could stay above my waist

Okay, Dr's, Nurses, DH...but he can't look. That's something no one should ever have to see.....

And here's a spinoff....you're a nurse in Labor & Delivery....do you have your baby where you work??!?! Flashing your va-jay-jay to your co-workers?!?!?!

Only licensed medical personnel will be allowed to look below the belt!

My dad was NOT in the room when I was born, b/c he said if he was he'd never be able to look at his wife the same way again

i always thought that i would want my mom and sister in there with me along with my Dh

but now that we are ttc and the more i think about it, it will me just me and dh and the doctors/nurses

I don't want to embarass myself in front of my friends and family or have them see my insaneness when I am giving birth. I am very very scared to give birth so I know I wont be able to handle having people in the room with me or video taping it. Plus it's kinda gross to have all those people in there. I don't need my SIL or MIL or BIL seeing my cooter

lol I am with you , I don't even want to be in the room when it's happening. I know DH wont be in the room, he has already made that clear and I don't blame him. I would want my mother there but I think she would be a wreck lol so maybe just myself and the doctors lol I don't want too many people looking at my hooha!

probably just DH - but i kind of want it taped, just out of curiosity i guess

i dont know, i kind of want to see someone give birth - its so amazing - that stuff doesn't really gross me out at all - i think its a miracle and really amazing....but i dont think im going to invite anyone else in the room just b/c i want that moment to be special for just DH and I - maybe after the first kid i'd see if my sister wanted to be there with us - hopefully seeing a live birth will keep her from ever having sex .....

LOL my SIL did! Well, she had C-sections for her last 2 kids, but the first 2 were natural I think. She even helped deliver her best friend's baby (and the best friend ALSO works there as a L&D nurse! Too funny)/

Just DH. My sister will be a back up just in case DH can't handle it.

I honestly dont even like when the family is in the waiting room. I need some time to get myself together and I will call you when it is okay to come.

Definitely just DH! My cousin had her dad tape it and it was really graphic. I didn't see it, but i heard about it my sil also had my mom in the room, and my brother taped it, but nothing too graphic. I don't even want my mom in the room, I don't know why she did!

Well definitely DH, but I also would like my mom I think. I wouldnt mind if MIL was in there either probably will mean alot to her. I think thats it. Dh will probably need somebody to help calm him down, he worries and stresses about everything lol, and i obviously wont be the one that day doing that lol.

Of course after i give birth everyone can come in lol

Alot of women I know say that they didnt even care at that point, and just wanted it out lol so who knows how i'll feel that day.
