Speaking of Disgusting Art

In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to death. For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony,
until eventually he died.

this is gross.
Horrible horrible and it makes me sad.
Its not ok for someone to starve their dog to death in their back yard then it sure as hell should not be ok to starve an animal for the sake of art....*******

I agree 100% I cant stand it to ever ever watch any kind of animal suffer like that. Makes me sick to my stomach. I cant even look at the picture more then once b/c I wanna either cry or punch that guy out!! How dare he?!?!!!

oh gosh when i watch those animal patrol shows I get soo mad I always think how bad I want to kick some serious BUtt when I see the owners mistreat the animals

This brought me to tears. This is the most horrible disgusting thing I have ever seen. That so-called 'artist' should be f-ing ashamed of himself....

I've always been for artistic freedom (remember Jesus in Pi$$? I think it might even be this guy that did it) but this is plain out cruelty!!

So I signed the petition then emailed Milana's post (incl. the pics) to EVERYONE I know.

This should be posted elsewhere on the site to get as many people to sign.

(PS - I find you gals EXTREMELY helpful and I love your so-called snarkiness!)

Where did this a s s hole do this? I wish I knew about it becasue I would have gone in there and set this dog free...in my full police uniform. I cannot handle animal abuse. I want to literally shoot the person who does this to any animal.

ETA: Where the F U C K was PETA and all of the other animal rights groups!! Why didn't they storm the gallery?

ETA: I just read the story... Now I know why PETA wasn't there- it wasn't in the US! And look at how blithely the peope are standing around while the dog is dying!! I want to bash all of their heads in!!!

I am an artist. I appreciate art and admire when they do not allow certain things to eb censored cause if censorship reigned supreme, some of the greats like Picasso and others who did 'outside of the norm' would never have been allowed to share their work.

But lately it seems a trend to abuse that right and use art to be an @sshole for lack of a better term-; to be cruel and just disgusting.

I can't believe that the animal cruelty groups ahven't pulled this 'art exhibit' yet. Thats absolutely insane. That even tops the crucifix that was stuck intoa bottle of urine and called art and that was HORRIFIC.

That is despicable! Absolutely SICK!
