Spinoff---Do you wear White to weddings???

So the other thread got me thinking. I had someone wear a white dress to my wedding, ONE YEAR after that same girl got married herself. She HAD to have known the ettiquette.

So do you follow the 'no white' to a wedding rule or if you had a cute white dress or a dress that had mostly white you'd wear it anyway?

I wore a white dress to a wedding in New Orleans a few years ago but I showed the bride the dress in advance and got her 'ok' -- she insisted it was totally fine and her wedding was a very casual, comfortable experience and that she loved my dress. Had she hesitated even a single moment, I wouldn't have worn it.

This is me and the bride (it was HOT and sweaty at this wedding):

I wore this dress (which was my RD dress but with a bolero) to another wedding down here in NC last September:

I also thought this one was a little too white, but I went for it anyway since I had the green bolero to wear over it.

I honestly would not have worn EITHER to a NY wedding, to tell you the truth. Something about Southern weddings is way, way more casual and everyone seems to wear pattern dresses or sometimes even skirts and tops.

ETA: Yes, DH always wears the same suit, shirt, and tie lol... well, usually.

I never have, but im sooo tempted to since i picked up this cute white dress with black swirls the other day... but i think it may be 'too white' and dont want to step on any brides toes...

But I did have one LIW girl at my wedding and she happened to wear a white dress (ahemmm danielle) but so did some others and it didnt bother me... But standing next to a white dress clearly showed that mine was ivory

No way! I was at a wedding where a girl wore a white LONG dress...granted it didnt look lke a bridal gown but i still thought it was funny!

I thought it was tacky for that chick to wear that slutty white dress to your TWOTY wedding!

Im sorry - THIS is where I draw the line - someone shows up in white (esp a white dress) to the wedding...they are just a rude, attention-seeking effin a-hole!

I just worked a wedding at the Plandome CC & the groom's sister wore a bleach-white pant suit. I was like...r u effin kidding me? sister or no sister - if that was my DH's sister & she did that - Hasta LA BYE BYE BIOTCH!

Never. And LMAO at Hasta LA BYE... Too funny!

I would never wear white to a wedding. I once wore a giraffe print dress in shades of gray and I got the okay from the bride before I wore that even!

I've never worn white to a wedding and don't think I ever would. Someone wore white to mine and I didn't even notice until I saw pics of it

i would never... but i think its ok with its got white in it.. just not all white. like a floral or print with white.... thats ok.
FH's friends mom wore a white or cream dress to our wedding.. not so cool, but ididn't even notice it the day of, so thats good! only saw it when i looked pics a couple days later!
