SPINOFF: HAPPY NEW YEAR! What did you ACTUALLY do?

Ok ladies so I know we all had these great plans to do things our first NYE as a married couple. But my question is WHO atcually did it?

I myself spent it at home. On my couch, half dead. NO fancy dinner for Pete and I, no sexy dress. We had to give our noj-refundable reservation to his parents. I caught some sort of flue on late Sat afternoon and it was the kind thatturns your insides into a mutant guerilla warfare camp. SOO gross to say this lmao but by the end nothing but pink porridge was even in there-all I could eat. Nothign seems to stay in and we almost went to the ER yesterday because I kept pasming like these horrible cramps that twisted me in half-couldnt catch a breath. Today I can sitt up but still feel 'off' so we're going to First Care to make sure its not a virus on top of something else because some of my symptons seemed ulcerlike and my mom has one so not too far fetched to believe I could develop one too because of the way I stress,

I just ate pancakes so we will see if these 'stay' where they should... UGH! I was so dissapointed because w eplanned this for so long and instead we both passed out after him holding my head when my spasms threatened to shake me in two. We woke up at 12:05 when my mom called me to wish us a happy new year. I had to speak to EVERYONE lol and then we went to bed.

What did everyone else do?

I had a few friends over, we all over ate and played some games. It was a hoot

Jenn, I hope your pancakes stay down and today is a better day for you, try to drink some Gatorade.

Hope you feel better Jenn and that its not an ulcer!! DH has been feeling your pain the past few days, too, you are NOT ALONE!!! I hopped out to a party at a friends house nearby (NICE WIFE, RIGHT???) but got back early enough to kiss in the new year with him, my mom (she was all alone last night so we hung with her) and the 2 doggies.

Frankly, it was a PERFECT new year's eve for me.

Feel better and good luck at the doc's today!!!!!

Oh Jenn i am sorry you didn't get to have your happy new years!!! Mine was spent alone with my two dogs on the couch while DH snored and slept in the bedroom...woohoo...exciting! haha...DH is sick...but he usually falls asleep before midnite anyway...i did call my friend in Australia and talk to her for almost two hours so that was nice. Hope you are feeling better!!!!

Jenn, I hope that you feel better and the panckaes stay where they are supposed to.

DH & I stayed in watched WWE, Ryan Seacrest & Diick Clark and then a couple of episodes of House. We forgot to open our champagne, maybe I'll make mimosas for brunch.

Aww Jenn honey!!! I hope you feel lots better today - that sounds like an AWFUL night even if it wasn't New Years!!

We went out to an Italian restaurant that serves 'family style' (aka enough for the 101st Airborne, even if it's for just like 4 people). There were a bunch of people there and we met a few new people too, which is always fun. Left so we could be home at midnight with the doggy (we're dorks) - got home at like 11:58 so we missed the whole Seacrest thing - waited til the clock on the oven in the kitchen turned and then gave everybody a kiss!!

For those of you who watched the Clark/Seacrest thing this year, was D ick Clark any better??

I caught the last 10 mins or so of it; I think he was sounding WAYYY better than last year, remarkable improvement in his speech and overall appearance! You could still tell he had a stroke obviously, but wow, he's amazing!!!!!

We invited a few friends over and ate dinner and watched lost up to about 1130 then we turned **** clark on and watched that nothing special but it was nice !

That's good - last year he sounded so bad it made my heart break - you could tell how hard he was trying. Glad to hear he's doing better!

We just stayed in to enjoy the New Years together. DH wasn't feeling well so he fell asleep before the ball dropped but woke up in time.

Pancakes have NOT stayed where they belong but at elats the cramping stopped. Nothing is binding though and the dang First Care clinic is clsoed today. We'll see about work tomorrow-Im not tkaing subways if things refuse to stay where they belong.

LMAO my brother called me this morning and Pete picked up. he asked t speak to 'pudding butt' HAve to love family. New Years Res #1-do not kill younger siblings

Nice to know others enjoyed their new year> Kath, Dh is sick too? I wonder if its just going around. We're going to try again for another occassion to do the dress up thing. Cross your fingers.

Happy new year everyone! Jenn, so sorry you're sick and had to miss your fancy dinner!!!!

We did New Year's at my mom's house. FOr the first time in like 15 years (or more??) the entire family got together (apparently everyone who had issues made up at my wedding in October!). Only my brother didn't come by, but it was really nice.

DH is sick - more like a cold though, and I haven't been feeling well at all for a few days so hopefully it worn't get worse.

Well being that our day started out with my husbands partners death, I originally cancelled NYE dinner.However, Both of our parents thought we should still celebrate. So I hosted both families here at my house, and tried my hardest to keep it together for my husband. All in all my brothers brought laughter, drunkiness, and smiles to everybody.Not to mention my spiral ham was a hit!!! All in all, I'm glad we didn't sulk.

We went to my cousin's house in Queens for a house party.. there 5 couples and it was really nice.. DH had to be up at 4 to go to work so we left there at 1am so that he can get a little sleep

well i never had any fun plans. its okay tho. Dh is in TX visiting DS, so other than spending some time w/ fam that live nearby in the evening, i was solo when the ball dropped! woo hooo!

it was still making me a lil sad to see him like that though bc of how he has always been. but, yes, he has def improved!

since I'm still sick, we just went to dinner at a hibachi restaurant w/ BIL & SIL and then went back to there house and played Karaoke revolution, there was a few couples there and we all played competitively.....it was hilarious b/c DH would never do karaoke, but once you make it a competition, he's all game!! lol we actually won twice! we had an awesome time.
