$6.25 each way on the express bus.
My DH is a bus operator and THEY don't see any of this extra money. He's still working without a contract.

My opinion - too many management positions and higher salaries.
The MTA really needs to be audited, using the real books.

LIRR tickets are supposed to go up 25%...did that happen also or did they just raise the subway fare.

Dh and I were pissed this morning, it's like they're making it impossible to live in this city and state.

LIRR tickets went up 23%. So now my $185 monthly is $227

That is such BS.

That means when I move out to LI and commute from Ronkonkoma my fare will be $342 for just the LIRR and on top of that I have to pay $103 for a metrocard. My total cost to just ride the rails will be $445...not to mention that I need to buy a car and pay insurance.

This is soo effing ridiculous.

Sometimes I just feel like getting up and moving the eff out.

Im shocked!! Im complaining and I dont even have to take LIRR. Its just insane to me. I feel like starting a revolution!

I take the subway A LOT and let me just say, I have NO IDEA where our money goes. The stations still look like SH1T. And just yesterday a trip that should have taken 25 mins took me over an hour because of a 'broken rail'. Arent they supposed to be improving things with this money? Or are workers getting better vacations?

OMG me too. I'm SO fed up with the subways. every day there is another story. I got the broken rail BS on the way to school sunday morning and it still wasn't fixed by yesterday! what a crock of sh1t - I seriously hate the MTA. I wish i could move or walk to work without actually having to live in midtown again.

Mine too! And add on the $103 for metrocard and I am at $330 just to get to work; w/DH included, we are spending around $550!!

I literally have to go 1 stop on the subway so round trip it will be $5.00!!?!?! UGH! I usually walk but not when its cold!

This infuriates me to no end!! That's what I've been saying for years...how the eff can they keep getting away with this?!

So now my monthly is going to go up to $352, and that's not even including a metrocard. I walk in the morning not to deal with the train, but I can't at night to make my train. And I see some of you have an even higher monthly. It's such BS! I keep saying, it's going to reach a point where people can't afford to get to work...it's really a d@mn shame!
